Possible hipster sightings...

Has anyone gone to this?

Edit: It's this Saturday.

Went last year, it was fun. They had a homemade Plinko board. The current main show at Dad's, Indulgences, stars Friend of CHUD Matt Myers. A few of us saw it last week and it's great.

I pretty much enjoy anything Dad's puts on, so I was wondering if this was worth going to.

Thanks for the info.

I assume lazy cop jokes will be made through out the day.

Don't forget the lovely lady wearing the bacon bikini manning the Plinko board.

Plus you'll be treated to a performance by Flyght Rysk, the band from their "History of Rock and Roll" show. I hear they're thinking of doing another edition of History with a new playlist. The last show featured songs like "Tie Your Mother Down," "Panama," "Beat on the Brat" and "Highway to Hell," among others.

I'll probably show up. And I also heartily endorse "Indulgences," particularly for folks who like shows like "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead." And Myers freakin' owns the stage every time he takes it.

So . . . I told my wife that I wanted to go to BaconFest. Then she won two tickets to a suite at Turner Field for Saturday's pre-season game against the Cleveland Indians. Then she gave the tickets away, because . . . we're going to BaconFest.

I need to go lie down for a little while.

Harsh, but justified.

I notice that they're also having some sort of Guitar Hero competition this year.

I might head over there for part of the afternoon, if anyone else is gonna check it out. Drop a note if you are, and maybe we can meet up (if it's not raining).

Last year, I went home with a trophy for "Actor - 2005" that adorns my DVD shelf to this day.

Whatever you do, don't tell Nunz.

Despite the rain, it was a good time. I'm bummed that I got outbid for the four tickets to the Braves game in the Hank Aaron seats (I bid $150). I think the rain made the "throw water balloons at improvisers" game moot.

Cool. I didn't try to head over there due to the rain, and the fact that I had about seven hours of Marvel Ultimate Alliance I needed to play.

Was Sir Francis Bacon back to hand out prizes from his Trunque of Junque?

The Trunque of Junque was there, but not Frank. I ended up with a Ramones album on vinyl. Score!

On a related note: After the improv show at BaconFest (which was done in the style of a Japanese game show complete with humiliating punishments for the losers), they offered a deal to everyone at the event. For $5, folks could stay and watch "Indulgences." Helluva deal, since tickets normally fall in the $18 range.

"Indulgences" has a pay-what-you-can performance tonight. The show is at 8:00 p.m. and, as mentioned above, features Matt Myers in a lead role. It's Mamet meets Stoppard, in a way. Fun stuff. It'll be our second time catching the show.

That's a pretty weak excuse for a Plinko board.

Hey, it's Baconfest not The Price is Rightfest. Let's think about the priorities here.
