My comic strip, I used to do it in the Dead Squirrel Magazine back in the early 90's. I'm doing it again.

The talkbacker idiots don't surprise me, but their stupidity never fails to amaze me.

Just wait 'til you start the new CHUD list.

Pretty accurate Nick, except I keep my waste basket on the left side of the computer.

More comic strips are always welcome around here, looking foward to the ones to come! As a note of curiousity, what did you draw that with?
It's good to see the talkback feature really starting to pay off like you assured us it would, Nick

Well, you can always bet on the next response. Like who's going to be the smartass that asks when Ron's going to guest star.

I'll start the bet at 10 dollars in the next 90 minutes.

Microns and a few pens built for manga but I figured to put them to good use.

It's pageviews. I can delete the ones I don't like so I will once they get it out of their system.

I love RON. I totally love that strip. But it's mine and Bert's so I'll leave it be.

I don't get it.

I'll be honest. I didn't care for it initially, but it grew on me.
RON was the tits. I'm still waiting for the comprehensive trade Nick promised us. And this made me giggle. Art gave me a bit of a Home Movies flashback. Dig it!

Gonna try and release these on MON, WED, and FRI.
I'm up for a paperback with the entire RON.

Chud needs to publish books. Lots of great stuff to spread.

We are getting ready to do exactly this.
Terrific. Books are Tax free to import here. So i'm game.

Ongoing storylines/characters or self-contained strips?

What is your beverage of choice as you create these? My guess is Maker's Mark, splash of Coke.

That night, I think you're right. But Tuesday's was done on no sauce and Thursdays [I've decided to run these on Tues, Thurs after his one] is on pure coffee alone.

Did you like this one? I think now people might realize these are unconnected random little comic strips and not some indictment or statement about this site and its readers, though the first strip definitely was a jab at our trollish talbacker-types.
I liked the second one.
Love the "drawn by a 4 year old" style.

Worst compliment ever.

I'm really loving this new series. I think the art style actually makes the humour work better.

I would also buy a trade of the RON stuff, as well as The Dark HIM. I think all the work Nick has done in the comic medium has been great. Reading Nick's stuff is one of the things that inspired me to finally get up off my ass and start writing web comics of my own.

Are they meant to be funny, or profound?
This reminds me of my proposed comic in the local newspaper, which I hoped would grace the funny pages in between such off-kilter kooks like FUNKY WINKERBEAN, MARMADUKE and CRANKSHAFT:

Hahahaha. The fuck was that? Completely random but funny nonetheless.
I would have gone with a two-handed drill, personally. Chainsaw is a close second.
Had to re read the text a few times, but yeah, good!
The third one is my favorite so far. "We are stealthy"
The hand drawn, rough around the edges presentation is great and fits the quick 3 frame format so far. Good stuff Nick!!!

The talkbacks are mind numbing...
Yeah, fuck talk-backers.. I'm digging this strip so far, with the 3rd being the clear cut favorite. Something about teeth being chainsawed just works for me in spades, a drill is too American Psycho.

I like this comic as I like my women: Quick, loose, and at random. Wait.. is that right?

Maybe...but with a drill, the fish could have said, "Screw yoouuu!" instead.

Thursday's is my favorite thus far and as I get comfortable I think folks will start to either appreciate them for what they are or eventually get tired of being cunts.

Either way, I'm doing it so nyah-nyah.

Too soon.
Best so far, I think I'm laughing harder at lil Abe's penis. However, this just goes to prove that the talkbacks will never be the place for intellectual film discussion as had been mentioned at the reboot.
Nick. Seriously. I've always been a fan of the site, I've always been a fan of your forays into other mediums. I tried hard to get into ron..

Now I don't care for this new comic, and thats fine, I won't dissuade you from it, I'll even still check it every day.

But seriously, seriously, seriously, enabling talkbacks and then deleting any posts you don't like. That is without a doubt incredibly lame.

Don't put yourself out there if you're not open to critique/slamming. Being an 'artist' means taking your lumps.

I've always been a staunch supporter of yours, but deleting any posts that badmouth or disagree with your 'art' is the first thing that I not only WHOLE HEARTEDLY disagree with, but is extremely big brother/1984/whatever you want to call it. It just seems obscenely hypocritical.

Yea I'm not a huge fan of the various strips, and whatever spur of the moment creations that tend to pop up periodically for short periods of time.

That being said. I've chosen not to be a dick about it in the past and realize that "I'm not the intended audience". There are people that ostensibly seem to enjoy Nick's stuff, which is awesome.

......

There is a lot I was about to write about how the site has generally gone down hill with regular articles about Devin's life on the main page, Nick's basic article formula (1 mention of cock punch + 1 "I want to make a project with this guy" + 1 "I have a project I'll be showing you guys soon" + %10 of material actually related to subject of article=WIN!), Consistent requests by a couple writers to be flown to sets. Really just a whole lot of unfunny. The overall writing has gone from being incisive, witty, and sometimes genius commentary on the topics at hand to being a whole lot of "Look at me!" pap in general. But I figured I'd just sum it up.

Still like the site a lot. I just don't visit it as much as I used too.
