Coming July 29th

Of course they're releasing a 24 episode long show in two volumes. Cheap bastards. But at least its finally coming out.

Surprisingly little information is included on the title, but we know the second side of disc 2 will include some bonus material; an all-new documentary "The Original Freak," "Freakazoid-less Archival Promos" and commentaries on 3 episodes! The set is coming on July 29th, the same date as Tiny Toon Adventures.

Awesome. I wonder if this has aged better than Animaniacs, Gargoyles, Exo-Squad and any other animated shows from the mists of my before adulthood.

Like Batman the Animated Series. That aged magnificently, except for a few minor hiccups.

This guy (I wont call him a friend cuz I thought he was a douche) I knew in high school's dad composed the song for Freakazoid! along with most of the other Spielberg produced cartoons from that era. Alas he died, but I did see the Emmy he won for it. For some reason it was wearing a doll's dress.

It hasn't, at least not to me. I bought a bootleg copy at Dragon*Con in 2006 and have watched almost all of it. I let my then 5-year old son watch it and he laughed and laughed, although I had to explain a few jokes to him. Glad to see a better version is coming out, as I was afraid I'd scratch the copies eventually.

Thank god it's not getting the unceremonious dump to DVD treatment that The Tick got.
