Warhawk - PS3

Played a little today after the patch and I must say that I'm liking the new weapons. I haven't bought the first expansion yet but if they do some sort of bundle with the second expansion, I'll probably get it.

I'm holding out for the bundle option to come through - I can't see myself getting sick of the existing maps for a very long time, and there always seems to be enough players on the old maps to ensure I don't wait around.

I'll also be downloading the patch tonight - I'm a little nervous about the power of the mechanic's wrench, but they've done a good job so far of balancing everything so maybe I shoud give them the benefit of the doubt...

As an aside - do you think they'll ever release the single player version? There must be a truckload of nearly finished code for that, and it wouldn't be too difficult to release it as a downloadable extra.

I'll have to get the newest patch... I've been playing this a bit lately, for the first time in a while and I've been having an absolute blast. I was even in a match with Bruce Wayne the other day (the last time I played) and it was great. There were other people playing too, but I think there was a moment where we were flying at each other and we ended up killing each other at the same time. Good stuff. I'll try to add some more of you guys on here to my buddy list when I get the chance.

I tried to download the first expansion the other day as well, but the store was running sooooooo slow on my PS3 at the time. I had it in my cart but it was taking forever to actually load up the cart so I just said the heck with it and bailed. i'll try again soon, and I'll definitely get the second expansion too.

edit: I'm all up for a clan, especially if that would make it easier for us all to find each other. I need to play with the game a bit more to figure out how to better accomplish this. In the match I was in with Bruce Wayne the other day my connection acted up and booted me out. I figured out how to see that he was on and I think I ended up finding the match again, but I wish it was easier to do.

I created a Warhawk server for tonight. I'll keep it running as long as I can tonight. Feel free to jump on and wreck some havoc. Server name is CHUD.com or you go to the buddy list and join the game from there. If you have any suggestions for modes and map configurations let me know and I'll add them to the playlist.

Had a good session last night - I'd forgotten how manic 32 player games could be... "respawn in 5" became my motto. There's nothing like spawning, jumping in a warhawk and rising up to meet 4 enemy fliers... before repeating the process 15 seconds later.

Must be a lot of spastics out there too - my ranking jumped up 100,000 places thanks to an approx 110 point gain...

You guys are really making this game sound fun. I really want to pick this up but I can't buy any games this month, except GTA IV, so I probably won't get this till, hopefully, May.

I played last night for about 5 minutes before I had to bail unexpectedly... but even that 5 minutes saw some glorious chaos. I was on a little island on foot, there were Warhawks, a jeep, a tank, a missile launcher and other maniacs on foot all gathered on this tiny island. My personal highlight was hopping in the tank and aiming up to take out the guy in the missile launcher, before a Warhawk took me out with a well placed missile. There was one guy running on foot who was the nearest thing I've seen to an assasin in this game. He was VERY efficient with the knife... maybe too much so. but I managed to blow him up pretty good once and watch his body fly away, so all was well.

I have to start playing this again. I just can't deal with on foot part of it. And almost everymap I get into is on foot only. Is there a way to go into first person mode as opposed to 3rd?

I just sold my 360 a bit ago. That money will get me a PS3 and Warhawk by Tuesday. I'm dying to see if this is as much fun as you guys have been saying.

There isn't, but it sounds like you're having a run of bad luck with your game choices - even on the smallest 3 on 3 map I've played there's been a couple of warhawks to spice things up. Although I generally aim for the 32 player games, as they have vehicles to spare... plus I love the carnage of large battles. Even if your team is taking a beating it's fun to man a heavy machine gun and blast away until the inevitable bomb drop... good times, good times.

I watched some gameplay vids on IGN last night. It looks pretty fun to me, I can't believe I passed this up when I got my PS3 earlier this year.

Large games are the way to go. More people to kill.

We need to get a Chud game going. I nominate having a game tomorrow. I'll be available after 2 or 3 pm pst tomorrow. Anyone else up for meeting up for a game or 10 sometime tomorrow?

Has anybody picked up any of the expansions? After I finally got the system update and checked out the new store I noticed that the Broken Mirror expansion was available. I recently picked up the first expansion too, but if I had been paying attention and knew this one was coming so soon I would have waited and gotten both at once to save a couple of bucks, but it's all good. The new level is pretty cool. Now I just need to find more free time so I can get blowed up by Bruce Wayne some more.

Yeah, I waited to get the first expansion till this new one came out since I figured they would do a bundle. The 2 maps are cool and I love the new vehicles. I need to play some more exclusively on these new maps to figure out everything though. I guess with the Metal Gear Beta problems postponing the start of the beta I'll be able to play some more Warhawk this week.

Fool! The first rule of Warhawk club is 'make sure Bruce Wayne is in your team'. All other roads lead to humiliation...

Jet packs are coming to Warhawk in the Operation Fallen Star expansion. Also a forrest map is being added.

I have Warhawk now, bitches.
