Bill & Ted's Excellent Remake

No real proof is provided in the article, not even a Variety link.

I have an unabashed love for both the Bill & Ted films. Every time I see them mentioned on the boards I lamely show up to yell "Station!" They're crap, but they're fun crap, with more than a few great jokes. And the best Death ever put on film. So the thought of a remake gets me up in arms pretty quick. Imagine the changes to try and make it fit today:

"If I die you can have my Megadeth collection." becomes "If I die you get my Fall Out Boy collection."

"Sir James Martin of Faith No More" becomes ...well is anyone really given accolades for guitar playing anymore?

"Excellent!" becomes "Meh, I'm too cool to show excitement about anything."

I am so distraught. I need comfort.

So so good.

Stoner hair metal, air guitar-playing kids become emo-geeks?

"The script is supposedly full of "hip" pop culture references for today's kids, like Bill and Ted worrying they're going to miss The Dark Knight"

This is so gonna end well....

Has it really been 20 years since the first movie? Jeez, I remember my grandparents taking me and my sister to go see it in the theater.

This remake is so pointless that I assume Platinum Dunes will be involved somehow.

Wow. I feel old. I remember watching this in high school. 20 years ago?

BOOOOO!

Finally, a remake I can seriously hate the idea of. I loved B&T, and even B&T's Bogus Journey (although not so much as the original). If they make them hip-hop guys, what are they going to have to learn to play? A music sample machine? I say feh.

No clue whether there's a George Carlin character this time around, or who might play him.
Dane Cook.

This movie finally proved to everyone that Lincoln knew how to party and that Freud like Corn Dogs. Why in the holy hell would we want to ruin that?

I am curious as to how Joan of Arc learned aerobics. And wound up in The Go-Go's.

I hope they actually meet Socratic Method this time.

Guitar Hero.

This movie is so unnecessary.

I'd pony up the dough for a Gus Van Sant shot-for-shot remake starring Michael Pitt and Casey Affleck. All set to Nick Drake songs.
