The Abominable Snowman (1957)

Great vintage monster flick. Peter Cushing and Forest Tucker are a great pair of contrasting leads. I also love the way they filmed the Himalayas as a big forboding landscape and that we don't see the Yetis until the last ten minutes.

It's hard to find in video stores, but I recommend getting it from Netflix.

Proud owner.

Glad it was a B&W flick too. The contrast helped sell the desolation and atmosphere.

I really liked this one too, it's not 100% a horror movie, but it's good. I have seen it relatively frequently on Turner Classic channel

One of the last Anchor Bay VHS I bought. The best black and white Himalayan monster huntin' action since the beginning of Werewolf of London. Very moody and compelling.

Caught it on TCM as well (seriously, what a great station), and really loved it. I'm happy I grew out of my 'horror movies aren't good unless they're super gory' phase in college.

This was in one of those 50-cheap-ass-horror-movie boxsets that they sell at gas stations for about $5 that my dad bought for me when I was out sick in middle school. This was the only one I remember liking.

Of course, I don't want to marginalize the brilliance of THE KILLER SHREWS, but that's another thread altogether.

Bragging rights to the person who somehow makes this into an internet meme:

Subsequently, 5 demerits each for the people who it into the ground a day later.
