Next weekend. Whole bunch of films with new footage on display- Wall-E, Hellboy 2, Clone Wars, The Spirit, Harold & Kumar 2, Special..... Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D?

But yeah, I'll be there scampering around trying to find cool stuff for the sites. Who else is going?

New York Comic Con is one of the best conventions I have ever been to. I definitely am going.
Oh Alex, please take pictures of this encounter! Immortalize this man.
Yeah, I'm gonna absolutely need someone to document this meeting.
...and thus the new "Twilight Zone" movie came one step closer to reality.
I've never been to it, but I'd like to go. I'm a little swamped that weekend, but if I can I'll probably try to check it out on that friday after work. I forget why I missed out last year...
Yeah, your night with DukeFleed would overthrow your night with Uwe Boll.

A meeting of titanic proportions.

Thanks! I may have time for a couple of hours after work. I have some friends wgo usually go too, so I'll check with them too. They're probably planning on going on the weekend though.

I'll be there Friday through Sunday for work, it should be a good time.

Yeah, it's definitely fun, if only to geek-watch. I'll be there Saturday and possibly Sunday.
I think the shop I work for wants to send me to the Stan Lee award thing on Thursday night. Free drinks, food, and meeting Stan Lee (again)... I guess I'll go.

I understand why conventions usually block their major presentations in such a way that the major ones are within minutes of one another, but that doesn't stop me from hating it. The WB has to be something Dark Knight related, but I've been dying to see The Spirit presentation. Why have the convention gods forsaken me?

That's my FAVORITE Val Kilmer movie! Go to that one!

If you could throw a brick at Brendan Fraser, or at least the image of him, while there, I'd appreciate it.
I'll be there on Saturday. It's become a tradition with my geek buddies. Gonna stock up on some Creepy back issues, and hopefully meet Alex in the flesh. I'll keep my eyes peeld for Eric C as well; where you gonna be, if you don't mind me asking?
I'll be at NYCon at the Archaia Studios Press booth. Stop by and find me (Jason Becker) mention CHUD.Com and I'll give you a free comic book. Even Duke Fleed.
I would love to go, but unfortunately I am heading back to Michigan. Haven't been back home to see family & friends since Labor Day weekend.
Alex, please find out about and report on Special. What the fuck happened to that movie?

Yes. It will happen. I'll bring along the next set of books for you to review to save me shipping fees! (No guarantees on Ketchum, though...)

It's Sunday, so I might not be going, but I'll try. Looks like I might be getting interviews with people for Starship Troopers 3, which I know you all can't wait for. We'll find out what Casper Van Diem has been up to!
I'll be around, don't know where though.

By the way, I just heard that the first day of ComicCon is the day the Pope is visiting NYC. So, you know what to do, right?

Flash him.
LisaNY, Should we suggest he go to New York Comic Con?
I just need video of a couple dozen Star Wars nerds dressed as Stormtroopers following the Pope's procession chanting the Emperor's theme

Come on Lisa, you know why he is there--it's for the "Helping Bookstores with Comics for KIDS" panel.

Lisa requested a picture of us and Riviello together. We'll have to work something out. If all else fails, just look for the blue backpack bulging with Creepy's.

Are we getting a CHUD report?

Most of the stuff that happened seemed pretty cool.
Including the Dark Knight new trailer, Hellboy panel and Hulk!

I want Pictures!!

The Joker toy looks incredible.

Tati, The Hellboy panel was terrific.

So....did anyone meet fleed?

That's what I meant, of course.

Why was it so much smaller than last year? Last year, they had the artists on a different floor giving them a little more room rather than just cramming everyone onto one floor. Hopefully, there's a little more elbow room next year.
Justin Clark, Sadly I didn't get introduced to any of CHUD.COM'S Chewers. If anyone wanted to know, I was wearing a Black Miami Dolphin hooded sweatshirt and spent alot of time playing Iron Man, Hellboy Science Of Evil, and watching Sega Reps play The Incredible Hulk. I will definitely be attending The New York Anime Festival this September as well as New York Comic Con 4, President's Day weekend 2009.

Oh. My. God. I was in the same room as duke fleed. So close...
Duke Fleed is not a real person. His failure to show up to the Archaia Studios Press booth to claim his free comic proves it as far as I'm concerned.
Much to my disappointment, I was not able to ever connect with Riviello or Eric C. I looked in the Directory for a location for Archaia Studios, but the listings started with "B", so I wasn't able to find Pickman, either. I did, however, hoist a few rounds at a Houlihan's in Orlando with Darkmite8 on Monday night, so all is not lost. Determined Chewers CAN indeed connect in RL. Oh, well. There's always next year. I'll keep coming back, as long as there are Creepy back issues to be had.
