God damn it. I wanted this movie to surprise us in a good way.

Poor Norty.

Are these vultures I see circling?

This is what happens when you fuck Ang Lee in the ass.

Re- The Incredible Hulk
"How do you fuck that up?!"

"How does the same thing happen to the same guy twice?!"

McClane speaketh truth. But there's still hope for this, right?

Right?

Ouch. Seems like Marvel dug itself into a hole here.
But why is there a fight over final cut in the first place? Isn“t that what contracts are for? Then again it is Hollywood. So that argument should not be valid.

I'm wondering exactly what in this film Ed Norton would be fighting for. I figured it was an easy paycheck, not something he had any emotional investment in.

He also said, "Come out to the coast, we'll have a few laughs" and look where that got us.

But some guy at comicboards.com is optimistic, so chin up people!

I agree that the next trailer is the most important thing. I could care less about Stan Lee not giving it an enthusiastic EXCELSIOR!!!!! quote or Ed Norton throwing another fit. I don't think the teaser impressed anyone, so this next trailer had better blow people away.

Apparently, Ed Norton will now fight for final cut on every damn movie he's in.

And the Hulk is chatty in this movie?
He said about 1 word in the script I read.
I can't completely dismiss the film, especially if we don't know what Norton wants out of the cut that he's not getting.

Wadew, what'd you think of the script you read? That bit about the Hulk talking made me shudder a bit.
Hulk had one line of dialogue in Ang Lee's flick too. Yeah, yeah, dream sequence, what are you one of those health nuts, gofuckyerself.

I'm always shocked at how much weight Norton seems to carry. The guy's not exactly Will Smith or Brad Pitt in terms of power.

Somewhere, a South Park episode is going to come from all of this. I can feel it.

The script seemed fine to me. It's pretty simple 'Banner on the run and searching for a cure/Hulk vs. Army' stuff. Not the greatest script I've ever read, but it could make for a fun movie.

So I assume we'd all rather see Norton's cut than Marvel's, right?
I want to see leterrier's cut. They probably made him cut the Hulk/Abomination fight from 58 minutes to 26.

I wish the Hulk would talk alot more. Part of the charm of the Hulk is how he butchers the english language as he smashes entire towns.

It's not that he carries tons of weight, it's that he's strong-willed and tenacious. I've known plenty of people like that, who fight for something so long and so hard that even if they're in the minority, they wind up getting their way.

"Santini-ized"?? Kudos to you, good sir.

Kinda like you.

I'm tired of underrated classic status of Ang Lee's 'Hulk' that's shared by so many. I saw it opening weekend and it dissappointed. I sat there and watched and fought for it internally but it just fell apart in front of me. It started off with some novel approaches to character's origin by way of his dad, but there were some uneven elements that early in the film that were provoking unintentional laughter. I shrugged it off, but it only got worse. I half-remember stifling a groan when Nolte, after first seeing the Hulk at the lab, cries "Bruuuuuuce!" or "My Bruce", something in that vein.
The only scenes that held me were the action scenes, yes, including the fight with the gamma dogs. That felt like the Hulk to me. I would have been perfectly happy with the movie ending when they capture him after the San Francisco rampage. Would have knocked 10-15 min off the film and not subjected us to the tacked-on feeling of the last fight with the Hulk and the Absorbing Dad. That was a plot thread they could have left dangling for the next film.
Later that day, after seeing it, I went to an ex's wedding. Pain and dissapointment all day.
This new one could be a float down that same river but one thing the trailer did that I liked was that it gave the impression that ,at least at the end, it's big guy vs big guy with lots of collateral damage. That looked comic book Hulk. As long as it avoids the melodrama, it might get the rest of it right too. Here's to hoping.

But why hire an intellectual like Norton (and team him with a director of mindless action films, Unleashed included) if that's all you wanted in the first place?
Why was Spike Jonze tapped to direct a big budget childrens film for that matter?

It seems to me that these suits get opinionated auters onboard for some of their projects and then baulk when they behave like opinionate auteurs.

I don't get it at all frankly.

Nobody here, including the NY Times critic, has seen the damn movie. This smells like an unnecessary smear job.
