Where are the best places in Atlanta to buy music?

I've been using internet stores and downloading services (iTunes, eMusic) for the past 3 or 4 years for all of my new music, so I was wondering, are there any good record/music shops around town? Of course I know about Wuxtry, Wax N Facts and Criminal, but are there any cool places north of the city? Not necessarily places like the aforementioned three but more like some cool little hole in the wall places where they sell vinyl and used cds for decent prices.

After hearing all of the doom and gloom concerning the music retail business, I guess I'm wondering if I should just keep using eBay and other services for my music purchases or is there a local remedy that would allow me to bypass all of the bogus shipping charges?

Not north of the city, but Ella Guru is far and away my favorite record store in town.

For Vinyl, you might try the friendly folks at Decatur CD. It's a fine store, and they've been carrying more records lately.

Also, there's that shop by the Flying Biscuit in Candler Park whose name I forget. Lots of cheap old records there, if that's what you're looking for. Also, some used CDs. Not much new stuff.

As far as the Northlands go, all I can recommend is the CD Warehouse at Hwy 9/Mansell. They tend to be really well stocked and friendly.

Wait, your userID is based on a GoBot? You win a prize, or something. A GoBot prize.

A good prize or a prize like a sock full of quarters to the head?

Because I'm pretty sure I don't want a sock full of quarters to my head.

These are good suggestions. Never heard of Ella Guru before; I think I'll probably check that one out this weekend.

Has anybody been to Full Moon Records. I've heard that they are pretty good but I've just never been down to check them out.

Thanks for the help.

Ah, yes, Full Moon. That's the one in Candler Park that I mentioned above. What kind of stuff are you looking for?

I'm looking for almost anything (classic-rock/country/R & B/indie/metal) but I'm also trying to pick up on some new finds that are only available on vinyl.

I've been buying a lot of stuff lately on vinyl that I had previously on CD, just so I can hear them in sweet, sweet analog. I'm trying to veer away from that habit and only buy LPs that I've never heard on any format previously.
So, I might check out Full Moon if the prices are right.

Criminal has a lot of new vinyl. Eat More Records is way north of town and they have (or at least had) a lot of vinyl new and old the last time I was there--but that was years ago.

Eat More is no more. They closed up shop about two months ago, now they're just eBay-ing stuff.

I used to go to Wax 'N Facts* back in the '90s. Is it still a good little shop?

*I remember seeing Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes walk in there one day back in '91 or '92. I was a fan of their music too, but he was pretty uninviting to the fans who tried to say hello. That experience hurt my appreciation for his band for a while afterwards. But I think I heard later on that he was battling a substance abuse problem (coke maybe? I know it was something stronger than pot for a while), so that couldn't have helped his demeanor.
