More good stuff from TC Boyle. Initially, I wasn't sold on him when I first read Rara Avis in high school...but then again, I was in fucking high school, so I more than likely completely missed the point.

I think the first story of his that really grabbed me by the short-and-curlies was probably Greasy Lake...just a wild, bizarre, creepy little story.
