Dungy, Millen, and Holmgren make a hell of a mustache triumvirate.

Jesus fucked Warner twice.

Seriously, you win one and you get two others snatched from you after leading awesome 4th Qtr comebacks. If it were me I'm converting. The Buddha would have made a fucking play on the ball in the end-zone.

I don't pay much attention to Warner. Is he a big Jesus freak?
He fucking loves Jesus Christ.

Got any Youtube footage?

Yeah, that wasn't a fumble. I guess Al Michaels does the reviewing.
I fucking hate Al Michaels. Smug bitch

Yeah, he's very upfront and open about his faith. I don't agree with it personally but I don't have a problem with it. He really seems to be one of the "good guys" and lord knows (pun intended) the NFL needs more Warner's and less PacMan's.

Isn't the internet great? Why, just a year ago, we would've had to wait 12, maybe 24 hours for animated gifs of the game to show up. Now? They come during the post-game.

The best thing about this Superbowl was the 4-meat, 4-cheese lasagna we had.
I believe that this is the image that best represents Super Bowl XLIII.

I will say that shot of Fitzgerald was kind of sad. Yeah, they're professional athletes who are compensated with fame and fortune most of us can only dream of playing a game but when you think about all the mental and physical effort you put in, all the hard work and intensity you have to bring for a season of pain to come up just short...you kind of can feel some sympathy for that.

Congrats to the Steelers...

Man, I'm fucking drained...

Warner had his armed cocked back when Woodley hit him. He tried to bring it back in when he got hit, but it was already coming out. That being said, it was a shitty called game all around. Arizona got all the holding calls in the first half, then Pittsburgh got them in the 2nd half. It was like the refs by the line were allowed to call penalties, but no one else was. Good game overall, though.

I had a Cards fan at the party I was at pat me on the back when Fitz scored, and I turned around and said, "The game's not over yet." Then when the Steelers scored, she said back to me, "Well, it's over now I guess." After what he's done this season, I felt confident that Ben could drive down and at least get the FG. It feels pretty good to win number 6. My friend who was hosting the party I was at asked me how it feels to be a fan of a team who has won 6 Super Bowls, considering he's a Vikings fan.

Good game! Better than I expected. Love the Steelers & I'm happy for them, but as an AZ resident, it was my duty to root for the Cards. Not to take anything away from Big Ben & Co., but I think AZ could've stolen this game if they hadn't undone themselves w/stupid penalties & those turnovers. Or you could blame the terrible refs, I guess (& you wouldn't be wrong).

Also, I just saw on our local news that all the Comcast viewers in AZ were treated to several seconds of porn right after one of the AZ touchdowns. Score!

I got to see boobs a couple of times at the 2nd party I went to. This girl kept flashing me and two other guys the whole night when no one else was around.

Well, the officiating was typical NFL officiating -- not that great. Bad calls went both ways, though, so ultimately I don't think it decided the game.

I honestly don't know how that Roethlisberger rushing TD in the first was overturned. Sure looked like a TD to me. Even if it you disagree, no way did the replay provide indisputable evidence.

The roughing the passer penalty against the Card who hit Roethlisberger was ridiculous. Count me among those who think they call roughing the passer way too much these days.

The final fumble call on Warner was actually correct. For it to be a incomplete pass, you need to have possession of the ball and make a forward motion. Warner made the passing motion but had already lost possession. His forearm just happened to push the ball forward a bit.

Congrats to all Steelers fans for a geat season and an entertaining year. I can't believe Harrison never won the MVP. The NFL seems to have a huge fixation on the guy even though he's a stupid piece of shit. Instead we have Santurdio Holmes take down the crown. Well deserved, even if you sold crack during lunch time and announced it during Super Bowl week. Hey Santurdio, why do you think you slid on draft day?

Listen I can understand you being a Dolphins fan and all, thinking Kuechenberg is long overdo for being in the Hall, but McDaniels wasn't just one of the best guards of his era, he was possibly the best. Larry Allen, in his prime, is the only guy who I would consider better then McDaniel, during the time he played. I can automatically tell you Gene Upshaw was a superior player, during Kuechenberg's era. The dude made only 6 Pro Bowls, playing a position where once you're in and remain at the minimum solid you made Pro Bowls - check out Jason Peters, one time Pro Bowler, who played in only 12 games, allowed the most sacks in the entire NFL this year, yet made the Pro Bowl, because he was a franchised player. McDaniels played in twice as many Pro Bowls and made three times the All-Pro's as Kuechenberg. Now as I said before, when it comes to offensive linemen these awards are the total horseshit in many cases, but when it came to McDaniel must of it was legit. He was amazing for about a dozen years before he started fizzling out.

A couple more things:

This is the first time I remember a trophy presentation where the winning coach or owner did not congratulate the opposing team. Maybe just an oversight; Tomlin seemed to get emotional and Rooney appeared to be concentrating on making sure he thanked Obama.

Although I grant that championship success at the quarterback position is more important for a resume than perhaps any other position in team sports, I think this game illustrates the absurdity of that sort of reductionism when looking over an entire career. The argument went: If Warner gets another ring, he can't be denied. So if the Cards defense makes a stop, then the quarterback becomes a hall of famer? How does that make sense?

Hopefully we won't have to hear that nonsense again.

I think they wanted to overturn it because of the Steeler lineman who pulled Roethlisberger into the end zone when he wouldn't have made it in without the help, but since that's not reviewable, they went with the knee.

The best Super Bowl I HAVE SEEN. This one had it all, great plays, on the edge of your seat, and yes (unfortunately) bad calls that went both ways. Hats off the Arizona for giving my team a hell of a game. The Steelers earned that game, end of story. No one can say Ben isn't an elite QB now. I remember on Week 1 some people thought Houston would beat us, and Cleveland would win the division.

Ben walked up to Warner after the game and told him "It was an honor to be on the field with you."

Which thread is filled with more bitter posts, this thread or the Battlestar Galactica thread?

That was classy of Ben to say. It wasn't classy of Harrisson to punch Francisco while he was on the ground. He should've been ejected for that.

I was thinking my Colts were going to do it until they choked yet again.

Well, call it "official" if you want, but Favre has told his agent to inform the Jets that he won't be back for the '09 season. So speculate away about the QB situation now.
