Question regarding The New Metal Gear 3 Pack

I noticed yesterday, at a store, that the first 3 Metal Gear games are now in a new Trilogy box set. Are the 2nd & 3rd game in this set the same as the "Substance" editions or are they just barebone versions with only the game on them?

I had my eye on this too. From what I've read elsewhere it is MGS 2 Substance and MGS 3 Subsistence, but you only get the first disc of Subsistence (i.e. the main game disc without the disc 2 extras). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is the same as the Substance version. However, Metal Gear 3 will be only what was on the 1st disc of it's Subsistence version. In other words, it won't have the original Metal Gear or Metal Gear 2 along with what ever else was on the other disc of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. But if you are trying to collect the series, I would get it for Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance since it's kinda hard to find.

What version is this?
This is the original PlayStation version. This is not Twin Snakes. This is not Integral. This does not have VR Missions packaged with it.

Was it ported to PS2?
No. This is still a 2-disc PlayStation game. That means you will need a PS1 memory card to save unless you are playing this on a PS3.

Were there any updates?
None. This is exactly the same as the original release. Nothing has been changed.

------------------------------------------
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
------------------------------------------

Does this contain all the extras from Substance?
Yeah. Why wouldn't it?

Was the second disc included?
There was no second disc. The second disc PAL gamers got in their Substance was The Document of MGS2 which was released separate from Substance in Japan and North America. That is not included in this collection.

Does this contain the deleted scenes?
The deleted scenes that were removed due to 9/11 were not added back in. The scene showed Arsenal Gear crashing into Manhattan.

Were there any updates?
None. This is exactly the same as the original release. Nothing has been changed.

--------------------------------------------
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
--------------------------------------------

Does this contain all the extras from Subsistence?
Unfortunately, no. There were 2 discs in the original release of Subsistence and 3 in the Limited Edition. This release will only contain the first disc. The second disc had an online mode that was discontinued months prior to the release of MGS:TEC. Instead of removing the online mode from the second disc, Konami removed the entire disc because that was easier to do. The third disc from the Limited Edition wasn't important so it was not a loss.

What was on each disc?
Disc 1 had new difficulty settings, demo theater, new camouflages and face paints, and third-person camera angle. Disc 2 had Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, online mode, duel mode, secret theater, and Snake vs. Monkey. Disc 3 had the games cut scenes edited into a movie.

Are the removed features somewhere in the collection?
No. If you have a copy of the original release of Subsistence or the Limited Edition version, don't get rid of it!

Were there any updates to the first disc?
None. Disc 1 is exactly the same as the original release. Nothing has been changed."

There you go
