Police say two people have been injured and five people arrested after dozens fought in the streets of the Rockland County village of Nyack.

Orangetown police say fights among 40 to 50 people broke out Wednesday afternoon.

It took police officers from seven departments to finally break up the fights, which continued across Nyack for an hour.

Police say some involved in the fight were armed with knives, bats and an ax.

They say one man was stabbed and hit with a claw hammer; a second person was hit in the head with a hammer.

Both victims were treated and released from a hospital.

Police say they have arrested five people, including one of the injured, on charges including disorderly conduct, menacing, trespassing and possession of marijuana.

Investigators believe the fights are gang-related.
On a related note, I do remember when I was driving home from a Las Vegas Thunder Hockey game one night back in the 90's with a group of friends and seeing a gang of about 15 or so guy's walking around with chains and baseball bats in the parking lot of the Boulevard Mall. They were probably 8-10 feet away from us heading towards the street. I believe my exact words at the time were "Run the red light!". Hopefully no bystanders were injured in these Nyack hyjinks.

I've gotten lost around there a couple of times, I can't say it looked scary or ganglike, or at least as scary as some area's of the Bronx, or by Shea Stadium. Ehhhhggg... Met's fans.. Creepy.

Ah, the Boulevard Mall, where you can be beat to death in the food court and nobody will bother trying to help you.

That fight sounds like it belongs in Anchorman.

Well, if you've ever been to Nyack, that's pretty much the whole town.

"Quick, Watson, it's evolving!"

Yeah...shoes...but only on two tentacles. Damned hentai beast!

Well, it needs two tentacles to walk around so the rest of them are ready and able for some good ol fashioned tentacle rape.

And by the looks of it, he's doing that "leap from above body slam" on her.

Not to derail, but in the excerpt quoted above, they list the charges the arrested were booked on, and none of them included fucking ASSAULT?!
