Another lame list

I can see thinking some of these folks as inauthentic or lame, but worst rappers of all time? Nelly? Will Smith? Puffy (actually he's pretty bad)? Please Hammer don't hurt 'em! This list could only come from a white guy. Yeah I went there!

The list isn't that bad, by which I mean that the suck, all apologies to misguided former Ramones, is plentiful... but Fresh Prince and the pornocore pioneers 2 Live Crew shouldn't be anywhere near it.

not to defend puff, but these "worst of" lists are always made by people who dont know what "the best" is.
Or "good" for that matter.

Yeah, that's why I posted it. It seemed so misguided. Plus, it pained me too see some of the staples of my childhood on there.

The list just throws more misinformation about hip-hop culture into the mainstream. It's like those annoying VH1 specials where they try to find people who have zero knowledge of hip-hop outside of MTV to organize these lists and find out-of-work F-list Jewish comedians who are just as ignorant about it to make witty observations. If some lame sitcom actor from the 70's decides to rap on a TV commercial, you're doing more of a disservice to the culture to acknoweldge it as a "bad hip-hop moment" then they are by doing it. It isn't hip-hop. It's pop culture. Rapping a bunch of lines someone wrote for you on a TV special or some novelty record doesn't make you a hip-hop artist anymore than Mike Myers and Dana Carvey pretending to play instruments on Wayne's World makes them rockers. Dressing up like a singer and doing karaoke doesn't make you a musician. Hip-Hop has enough terrible artists who actually make albums and tours. It shouldn't be so difficult to make a list that you have resort to bad pop culture moments to fill it.

Actually, Bubba Sparxxx is outright good. Moreover, Nelly was basically LL Cool J for the turn of the century. They're not Biggie or KRS-One, but to include them on this list in ludicrous. (There are other awful inclusions, but these were the ones that most sparked my interest)

Another fucking stupid list that may as well be called "Stuff I Hate." Can we just create one giant catch-all thread for stuff like this and dump it in there? I mean, what's next, a list of movies that we got it all wrong about?

What is most sad about this is how lazy and uninformed the writer is. He takes the same names that critics (both editorial and armchair) have been kicking around for years and says the same old stuff.

I don't understand why Fred Durst is in there, he never made a rap album or called himself a rapper.

He just made really shitty rap influenced "rock".
