Today is Record Store Day...

Come celebrate at Criminal Records all day long:

We have 15 (fifteeeen!) bands playing inside and outside the store. We have guest DJs spinning in between. We have local record labels representin' along with the Girls' Rock Camp ATL peeps (they'll be answering your questions about how much girls rock -- which is a lot, duh --and taking summer camp registrations).

And we have giveaways, just tons of 'em. When you make a music purchase on Record Store Day, you'll get a FREE goodie bag filled with cool stuff like CD samplers, buttons, stickers, posters, comic books, magazines, and more! In fact, we even have special vinyl goodies for those of you who like to buy vinyl. My magnificent other has his eye on a special Record Store Day vinyl LP sampler, and this just in: Our friends at Merge Records has given us some copies of an exclusive split 7-inch single featuring unreleased songs by Destroyer and Wye Oak. Labels are still sending us goodies to stuff today to give away, and it's all too much to list here. Visit the store and get some!

Now, that's not all. We'll also have a raffle contest going throughout the day where you can win concert tickets, autographed box sets and lithographs, other music-related prizes, PLUS gift certificates from other local indie businesses (you know how we do). And don't forget we'll have a vinyl swap meet and a sidewalk sale, so make time to stop by and browse.

I just spent all day at Sam Goodys watching people buy regular CDs for $18.99 plus tax.
