Scrabulous (online) - Page 2

Tarzan's a proper name, not allowed under most Scrabble rules.
It's allowed in Scrabulous. A friend used it in a game we were playing. I looked it up on an online dictionary and apparently it is also a noun meaning "a man of great strength and agility".
I finished my first game with Diva with only a 19 point gap.

I am kinda proud of that.

My best score yet!
Damn you for beating me with "aridly", Deb. I will have vengeance!

Look at all those unused triple word scores! How is the bottom left one not used? There are a gajillion words that can connect to an "o" and "t".
I know, that was a rather... strange game. Tati deserved to win, but yeah, there were a lot of unused opportunities, there.

Also, I find I'm getting worse as I go along, not better. Which is not the way it's supposed to work!

We should form a separate facebook group away from the main Chud group. It's hard enough figuring out who everyone is in that Chud group, and then to figure out who among them is a Scrabulist...

Banks, search for Santiago Mateo.

That's me.
Not part of the Chud group, but if you search for "Al Schwartz" you should be able to find me. I'm the Santa Clara alum with a picture of Silvio.
Apparently Scrabulous likes the Jew words. In the past few days, I've used:

jews
goy
mikvat
yeshiva

I just played a game with Schwartz in which he got every decent letter in the game, save the Q (which I used to my utmost advantage). I seriously had the worst letters. I finally gave in and swapped tiles (which I never do because you lose your turn) and got to make one decent word, only to have the same letters I swapped returned to me the very next round! Although he beat me by over 100 points, I'm proud that I still hit the 300 mark using 99.9% of the 1-point letters.
Steadily getting my ass handed to me by Tati - as I did way back when with Diva. Still love the game. I'm, wait for it, Jeremy G. Butler on Facebook (so original!).
Summer smile came back at me with a vengeance. We used to be pretty even handed on the score but the last 7 games she kicked my ass. Damn chemistry words.
But now you know them, too!

azide and azido.

Also, someone just played the word "veepee" on me?!?! Some of the strangest things go through on this game.
I've started playing this as well. Holy shit, can you say new addiction?

I'm also discovering just how rusty I am at Scrabble. Back in high school I could pull off four word combos...now I can't shake the tendency to run away from the big blocks of letters.

I think I'm going to retire from games with Diva. I had every letter worth having minus the Q (which she managed to drop for 62 points some the fuck how), hit a bingo, made well over 400 points...and I'm still not ahead by that much. It can only get worse from here, right?

Yeah, summer has just decimated me in our last couple of games. And she told me she was terrible at Scrabble. Gentlemen...I do believe there is a hustler in our midst.

Chris Olsen: "I didn't deserve that."

Summer: "Oh, yes you did."

I never looked in this thread before, but this seems fun.

Cordo - if you're on facebook or want to do an email game, I'm in.
I'm bored. Does anyone want to play?
I'm back, Cordo. Your turn, btw.

Still working when I checked just now.

Banks, play me. I feel like losing today.

You don't have enough letters for that, Phil. Plus, "fuck" and "Jonathan" aren't in the TWL dictionary. So who's fucked now, eh?

Buuuuuuuurn.
Yeah, they pulled the plug on me. Luckily I finished a bunch of games yesterday, so only two were left incomplete.

It was fun while it lasted.

Yeah, that's been in the works for a while. Guess I better finish pasting Soul before they take away my num nums.

ETA: The scrabulous site is working fine. That's how I'm playing now.
Hey, my facebook profile still has my games listed.

What's going on?
He is pasting me. Like, definitively.
You're not in the US or Canada.
But, but, but i'm in the middle of a great game with Matchstick.!

I need to destroy him! You can't take that away from mE!
So, is anyone installing a different Scrabble application?
The new Scrabble Beta thing is working.
So which one are we installing?
I'm holding off on adding any apps. I've gotten so much more work done in the past week.
Wordscraper is kinda cool. Every time you start a new game, the board changes. It may give you crazy points everywhere or nothing at all.
I got Scrabble for my iPhone but haven't tried out the application yet. I wonder if it has online features... Hm.
Scrabble Beta is all sorts of fucked. It takes forever to load, you can't type words out and misspell or else you have to go out of the game and come back in to replay, and it randomly erases people's plays or skips turns. I'm done with it until they fix all the bugs.

I'm trying to sign up for the online game, but they have yet to send me the confirm link.
I've had a few frozen games and a couple where I couldn't confirm my entry.

Scrabulous is supposedly now Lexulous, though I haven't tried to start a game yet.
