Yeah, that may be worth $60.
Hell yes; I miss playing those....also, anyone hoping the Poltergeist boss returns? I hated that bastard.
Also, dont play this at Jeff Bridges's house...you'll get yelled at.

I'm more excited that the Splatterhouse 1 port is the Japanese arcade version, with the inverted crosses and exploding womb boss.

Really, holy hell, thats great.
The guy/s behind this site must be changing pants daily over that.

I admit to being interested in this because, you know, it's fucking Splatterhouse, but that regeneration mechanic seen in the screens on the first page...that just makes this an immediate must-buy. Looks fantastic.

So, judging by the cut-off jeans, wallet chain and bitchin' Chuck hi-tops this picks up after the first one, or otherwise takes place sometime in the early '90s?

2 page hands on in Gamesradar

The Mask has a personality and makes quips now, people.
Also, the "bloodier you get, the more powerful you get" mechanic might end up awesome.

So where are the day 1 reviews on this sucker? Hopefully the major outlets post something before the end of the work day.

There's a Eurogamer review that makes the game sound pretty true to its ancestry, for good and ill. Probably gonna be great budget bin fodder, but for a $60 game, that's kinda disappointing.

the last thing I read on this game was gamespot comparing it to Madworld on the wii...that's not flattering. Is there a chud review/2 hours planned for this?

Madworld was budget fodder too. It was well worth $20, just not $50.

CHUD review coming as soon as I finish it. Actually got some length to it. Enjoying it despite its (many) flaws but yeah, this one would be easier to take at a lower price point.

Alex's review. If this town had a rental chain I'd pick it up for the weekend...only now did I just realize both the Blockbuster and Movie Gallery are kaput. Sounds like some decent fun. Good review.

Played this at E3 and couldn't be more excited.

Played this through yesterday and today. It's pretty repetitive, but it's a whole bunch of bloody/gory fun. Great heavy metal soundtrack, and this may be the most mature game I've ever played next to Manhunt. Lots of F-bombs, and throughout each level you find pieces of pictures of Rick's girlfriend. Some are nice. Some are SLEAZY. Like topless sleazy.

I played it through on the normal setting, and some levels I had to replay a lot. The unusually long loading menu didn't help either.

As most everyone else has said here, it's a budget game. I got it for $30 as a Lightning Deal on Amazon a week ago and I'd say it's really worth the money.

Oh, please, for the love of God, let that Amazon deal hold out till Wednesday....

Yeah, I got it on that same deal. I probably wouldn't have liked it as much for $60, but for $30 it's pretty decent. I haven't beaten it yet (just got to chapter 10 out of 12), so maybe the end will screw it up, but it's just plain fun. I think one way to get over the repetitiveness is just to play a little bit every few days. Doesn't seem nearly as repetitive that way. But yeah, any horror fan will have fun with this game.

Voice work on the mask guy reminds me more of the sorting hat from Harry Potter...only been playing it in brief spurts too. It's enjoyable violence so far.

I love it because it's Disney's Pete. It's like those Thundercats outtakes, hearing a voice from a children's cartoon cussing.

And brief spurts seem to be the best way to play it. I hope that pun was intentional.
