Native Tongue! Lots of solid rips on the Magic Kingdom in that one.

There's not a lot of variation in his books' themes, but if you like one, you'll probably like most. Tourist Season is one of my favorites, along with Skin Tight and Basket Case. He's got a new book coming out next month about taking up golf again after not playing the game for 20 years. If there's one guy who could get me to read a book about golf, it's Hiaasen.

Basket Case is the only Hiassen that really entertained me. Of course, I was working with obits at the time (which features heavily into Basket Case's plot).

I haven't read them in years, but I remember finding "Native Tongue", "Tourist Season" and "Striptease" pretty funny.

Skin Tight and Double Whammy....I read the sequel to Skin Tight 10 years later, and it seemed like th author and/or main character has been neutered; lost much of its in-your-face humour.

Basket Case is probably one of the best books to take a look at journalism. Sort of like the last season of The Wire only more satire and less depression. Anything with Skink is worth picking up though. Wasn't so impressed with his last book though. Hiassen is more fun when he is truly pissed off.

Thanks for the recs, all. As it happened, my local library had a book sale Saturday, and I managed to get a hardcover copy of Basket Case for $1, then walked over to the used bookstore and picked up Native Tongue and Skin Tight. After much deliberation, I settled on reading Native Tongue first, but I'll get to the others soon enough.
