I was really interested (honestly I still am) in this game, and you're not helping me with my rejecting EA and Bad Company for the downloading gun stunt.

And what got you almost kicked out?

Apparently I was more interested than I thought. Don't know what happened there.

They canceled the plans for the DLC weapons! They've got a promotion going to unlock some early (more details here) but they must've realized how fucking stupid it is to charge people for something that's already in the game. You'll be able to unlock all of the weapons, but it'll take a bunch of time online to do it.

As for getting kicked out- it was because I went for a smoke break. At the end of the day last Friday I went out for a cigarette and proceeded to get locked out of the building. Turns out that they close up shop pretty tight after hours (it was around 6). The security guard wouldn't let me back in with my visitor's pass, saying that I should've turned it in already and telling me to call the guy I was with and get him to come get me. I tried explaining to him that I didn't have the guy's number and that they were just right upstairs, but he basically said that it wasn't his problem and closed the door on me. So I waited there till an employee left the building and just walked in after him. The guard ran up and said how I couldn't be there, but after some convincing that all I wanted to do was grab my laptap and leave, he escorted me to the room (after radioing it in! In case he disappeared mysteriously, I assume), where he saw everyone else there and let me be. They were all looking at me funny for being escorted by the security guard...

I saw that about the change to the guns, but still, why should we jump through marketing hoops for guns? If it was something like a whole additional level or something, maybe I could understand it.

And I guess that security guard showed you for trying to promote his company's product!

Well you don't have to do all of that stuff to get the guns. You'll get them in gameplay either way... this is just an incentive for people to get shiny new guns to show off early.

I would absolutely love to see some Chud matches in this game when it's released.... I'm missing the chewer presence in the Beta a whole helluva lot.

Goddamit Alex, stop keeping my interest level high!

I saw "summer" in your article, is there no nailed down release date yet?

June 23rd. Probably should have specified that.

Alex you'll have to let me know if they do one of these "Community Days" in the Burnaby Campus. I't be great to meet another Chewer, and I think we do have some stuff coming up that is gonna be "Community" worthy.

It looks fantastic and will be brilliant, however I suspect i'll only buy it when some friends pick up copies - the single player aspect, whilst getting focus, will be secondary to an awesome online experience.

Definitely. I haven't heard anything about any upcoming events there (although looks like I'm going to be invited back for one for Dead Space in a few months in San Francisco again.) You work there?

And Bees, yeah, you're right. From what I played the single player will be a ton of fun, and I can see myself going back to find all the gold caches and (probably) unlock all the achievements, but the staying power with this one is all in the multiplayer.
