I've been trying to get everyone I know into HDNet. The movies channel they carry is grand and so is the regular old HDNet with all of it's sports content(mostly MMA.)

Glad to see others enjoying it.

I saw that line-up about an hour ago and asked myself why I didn't tune into this channel more often.

Yeah, I like HDNet a lot. Mark Cuban CAN do something right, I guess. And I love "Art Mann Presents".

Its really the only good channel included in the extra five dollar HD package from DirecTV, but it certainly makes it worth it. I've also enjoyed the airings of Lawrence of Arabia and Ghandi.

MGMHD and SmithsonianHD, however, rarely have anything worth watching.

Found this through the search function so figured I'd ask here.

I'm watching the trailers show and they keep talking about a sneak preview for Finding Amanda feat Matthew Broderick.

Am I misunderstanding something or am I actually going to get a summer release albeit a small one for free on my Tv? Do they do this a lot?

In any case a lot of nice HD content, including the Indy Trailer, Dark Knight and the Spirit Teaser, I'll have to tune in more often.

They do all kinds of stuff like that. Not sure about the movie you're asking about as I haven't seen a mention of it, but Redacted was shown before it was "released" as well.

I think I DVR'ed (and subsequently enjoyed) Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Das Boot, and Once Upon a Time in the West (most notably among several - for instance, I DVR'ed Midnight Cowboy but didn't necessarily enjoy it all that much) off of HDNet.

Noticed Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada and Bridge on the River Kwai is on this week. Always wanted to see those in HD. Sweet!

The sneak previews are usually Friday or Saturday nights, I think. HDNet is fantastic. The regular channel airs shows commercial free and the movie channel usually has a pretty good selection. I don't know how many times I watched GHOSTBUSTERS when it was in the rotation.

I think I've watched Ronin about 25 times recently, just because its been on.

Yeah, I love HDNet movies. I TiVo more stuff off that than I do off Showtime. On New Years this year they had a Hitchcock marathon and I caught Bridge on the River Kwai recently.

The Magnolia Pictures premiers are pretty cool. I'm just upset that they haven't had The Signal yet.

I was just checking out the official site and I saw a few titles that I will need to clear DVR space for:

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
Amadeus: Director's Cut
Bride & Prejudice
Manhattan
THE SEARCHERS
The Bridge on the River Kwai

Ugh. That website is going to be the death of my DVR...

This week:

Casino
Chinatown
Nixon
Lawrence of Arabia (again)
Das Boot
The Getaway
BLADE RUNNER on Wednesday Night
The Color Purple

I love HDNM.

The same line-up they've had for six months. I love Chinatown, but there's a maximum number of times I can watch it in a year's span. I might DVR Das Boot, though.

Have they had Blade Runner? This is the first time I've noticed. Haven't seen it in HD yet.

If I didn't have it on Blu-Ray I'd be more excited.

Bumping this ancient and lonely thread to remind folks that they can catch the excellent World's Greatest Dad directed by Bobcat Goldthwaite(sp?) tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

That's 5pm pacific! (plus 6:45pm & 8:30pm if you don't get home from work on time)

Man, the Canadian version of HDNet sucks. We get vertical Limit tonight.

Bumping for Ong Bak 2 Wednesday at 8, 10, and midnight. I'm so happy I got HD hooked up in my apartment just in time to see Tony Jaa knee some assholes in the head.
