UK Chewers - where are ya? - Page 17

I haven't watched it since the first one, totally forgot about it. Might give it another go now if it has found it's feet.

What sort of country have we become when it's not possible for a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce to safely ride through the middle of a riot?
pussy students, don't chant "cut their heads off" unless you're going to do it. If it were'in't'north...

Looks like I picked the wrong year to go to Goldsmiths, as the library has been occupied repeatedly over the last few weeks and a bunch of friends were right in the middle of the insanity at Westminster Bridge.

I am going back for the graduation in a month, so that should be interesting...

The funniest thing about that was someone managed to poke Camilla with a stick through a crack in the window... I really hope there was some dogshit on the end of it.

I really hope Charles said "don't you know who I am?" as they trashed his Rolls.

or "I'll tell me mum on you".

sorry i've been out of circulation (no-one noticed thank god) but I had a problem with my cookies and so was locked out of the forums at work.

I was there at ground zero during the riots, couldnt get out the building for all the pigs, ahem sorry policemen that were about. Since then though even though there hasnt been much protesting to speak of there is literally a cop on every corner from Westminster to Embankment to Victoria.

Speaking of the revolting students, I guess you guys have seen this, along with the typically 'Littlejohn-esque' column.

Stating the obvious, but Littlejohn is an utter cunt. How on earth did that get past the editors? There was quite a large, angry furore on Twitter yesterday, hundreds of complaints have gone into the PCC.

In the meantime, enjoy this excellent video of Littlejohn being owned by Johann Hari on his own tv show. The good stuff is in the last three minutes or so.
The word "cunt" never really found it's true home until Littlejohn was born.
I read a Littlejohn screed where he was praising Chinese sweatshops for putting netting in their factories to stop their employees from committing suicide on the premises. Ended by saying "Back of the net!"

Cunt.
Littlejohn is a wanker. He's like an evil Clarkson. Anyone affected by the snow? I've got family stuck in France, portugal and Dorset. (No cars can get down the Dorset lanes). Family xmas plans being revised.

Just under a million people peacefully protested our governement yesterday, then about a 100 blew all that effort by being twats.

I wouldn't say they blew the effort.  What those 100 people did doesn't help or hurt the effort, it doesn't really make a difference.

When exactly is the last time one of these protests worked?  G20 protests and anti Iraq war protests never yielded anything.

ANd in all those protests the police instigated all the problems, certainly in the G20 protests, with their tactics of cordoning tens of thousands of people off to areas for hours upons hours and beating them with sticks.

Well even if you are anti royal you have to love the fact that for 3 days holiday you can enjoy 11 work free days from tomorrow. So thanks William and Kate, just for that.

Heads up UK viewers, CATFISH is on More4 next Tuesday at 10pm.

The hype has almost turned me off, but I'll give it a shot.

Its definitely worth a watch. How much of a 'documentary' it is is up for debate but its oddly moving in its own way

For those who missed it, CATFISH is on again on Tuesday as part of MORE 4's great documentary series.  NUCLEAR ETERNITY, about the difficulties of storing Nuclear waste, was fascinating.

'Simulated Reality' seems to be the party line. The fact that those guys are making the new PARANORMAL ACTIVITY flick sways mt opinion on how real it is too.

I'd complain about the lack of ITV but it was only recently, when I was trying to figure out how to watch their online coverage of the Rugby World Cup on my work computer, that I realised I watch bugger all of Channel 3 nowadays

Hello chaps, just a quick note to see if anyone fancies joining me for the draft? I seem to be the only GMT in there at the moment.

I'm in like Flynn Glisten, should be a giggle.

At last, Netflix streaming is now available in the UK and Ireland on basically everything you can think of, Xbox, Wii, PS3.  Not  sure about standalone Blu-ray players though.

http://crave.cnet.co.uk/homecinema/netflix-now-live-in-uk-with-a-months-free-movies-50006587/

It's £5.99 per month for unlimited streaming.  Not bad, I thought it would be at least a tenner.   In response, Lovefilm has dropped their price to an unbelievable £4.99 per month for unlimited.  And don't listen to those who say Lovefilm streaming is crap, there are some unknown gems hidden there and the streaming quality is perfectly watchable.  They REALLY to get HD sorted though.

What Lovefilm REALLY need to do is sort out how they organise tv shows - it shouldn't be so much work just to watch a couple of episodes of Venture Brothers.

Hey punks - I'm in London this week, until Weds. Anything interesting movie-related going on this week?

Was hoping The Nomad screenings might be happening while I'm here. Alas.

Sorry for the short notice chaps, but there's an open air screening of the Exorcist on tonight in Reading:

Caversham is easy to get to from Reading train station and while this is short notice*, there looks to be a season of Friday night horror events so I'll let you know if more come up.

*only just found out about it when a devout Christian in the office was just complaining about it. "Er... can I have a link to that please? I want to be outraged too!"
