Pearl Jam back in the studio with Brendan O' Brien

It's been 10 years (wowsers! I really am getting old) since they've recorded an album together. I dunno why, but this has got me all hyper and sweaty thinking of the possibilities. Their last two albums are up there on my list, but there's no producer out there that can get the razor-solid power, adrenaline, and performance out of the band like O' Brien. VS. and VITALOGY are two of the best-produced albums I've ever heard, in essence replicating the band's spirit when they're in a live setting.

Awesome news indeed.

I love Riot Act and Binaural, but the latest one doesn't quite hold up.

I'd love to see the band be back at being a solid studio band instead of maybe the best live band.

Are we pretending Binaural and Riot Act didn't exist? They really weren't that bad.

Anyways, excited for more Pearl Jam.

Fucking awesome. I for one find something great about every Pearl Jam release, although it took me some time to get into Riot Act and Binaural, but if they're back in the studio with O'Brien mark me down as super-fucking excited.

I'm hoping for a summer release with the pace that they're recording at.

There are few bands that I've been a fan of for this long that I can safely say I still get excited about when a new album is in the works.

Thank god PJ is finally at work on their new album. They brought me back home with their last album, & I can't wait to hear what they do next. They've done good work with O'Brien, so this news is just icing. Bring it on.
