How is it that the Democrats insist on a non uniform tax rate for the wealthy?

What are they thinking?

it says:
  1. all duties
  2. uniform throughout the United States (it doesn't say uniform except for the rich)

No he doesn't.

Federal taxes are uniform in the United States, that is, they apply uniformly to all states. It doesn't mean that there should only be one tax rate regardless of income or any other criteria you wish to apply.

I guess I'll do some analyzing here in the way that the supreme court and others tend to use. Namely, interpreting and looking at technicalities. Hmm...it says that duties, imposts, and excises shall be uniform. It does not say anything about taxes from the half-sentence before. I guess duties, imposts, and excises are the only things that are supposed to be uniform.

I love how he quotes Friedman; the man who held Chile up as his greatest success and proof of his theories and how his free market toppled the Junta and brought democracy to the people.

You know, the country with one of the largest gaps between rich and poor in the world and who are governed by a popularly elected Socialist President.
