Even IF english were made the official language of America, that really won't stop others from speaking whatever language they please or from papers and TV chanels to be in other languages. If I feel like talking to my friend in German (or even Klingon) at a restaurant, my right to free speech allows me to do so.

As much as it would give me great personal satisfaction to see the lot of these rednecks rounded up and shot execution-style in the back of the head, their corpses to be raped by horses at a later date... the truth is that it's America's greatest asset that you have the freedom to make a complete ass of yourself, no matter who you offend. Besides, they're mostly old, they'll be dead soon enough. And that little girl with the sign will turn 16 and willingly give her virginity to a Mexican boy as an act of rebellion against her fucked-up racist parents. He will wax that ass, and she will enjoy every filthy, moist moment - as it damn well should be. Count on that.

Racism will always be with us, unfortunately. But look at how much we've weakened it just in the lifetimes of our grandparents, parents, and now our generation and that of our children. A black man might very well be our next president - if that's not progress of some sort in the fight against racism, what is? Things will continue to improve on that front. Let's not turn impatience into pessimism. Our progress, if you really look at it, has been astonishing.

Don't you see? If English had been this country's official language, these people would have learned it correctly the first time. This just strengthens their argument.

It is kind of funny that these 'tards are protesting something but they don't have an idea of what exactly it is that they're against.

The "English as official language" was to be only for governmental documents (local, state, federal), not to force a "no one can speak anything but English" agenda, which seems to be the cause they've protesting for. You can thank the media for that perspective.

It's understandable that people are pissed off right now with the economy in the shitter. It's awfully hard to know someone out of work or be someone out of work while hearing stories of illegal immigrants committing identity theft while working.

I think at this point Amnesty is the only solution, the problem's gone on for far too long to just kick them out of the country now maybe back in the 90's or 2000/2001. Enforce the boarder, amnesty*, then haul off any illegal's after that. Really, how do you justify deportation for one person while keeping someone else just because they expelled someone out of their vagina, seems a little fucked.

* except those that have committed crimes or are wanted for crimes in their home country.

My question is: Did the immigrants working at the meat packing plant take white peoples jobs or something? From my understanding, most white people don't want to work those kind of jobs, and if we keep arresting the immigrants who are, then NO ONE is going to do those jobs.

And doesn´t this meat packing plant take advantage willfully and in full knowledge of the situation of it´s employees to make more profit? It is not like they are victims.

And after I first posted in this thread I actually tried to look up the meaning of "Amnety" in my language. Silly me. But please, somebody tell it is me that is stupid and that these people are not seriously raping their own language. Or is that supposed to be "ironic"? I never know with people like this.

The average Meat industry job pays about $11.47 according to some .org union site I found and this price is down considerably from the 60's and 70's when they were making close to $20 an hour, considering inflation they should be making a lot more than an average of $11.47. I know a lot of construction jobs are in a similar boat out west where illegal's have infiltrated the work sites and experienced laborers are either out of work or forced to work at the same wages they were earning in the 80's.

I don't know about you, but I know a lot of people that wouldn't mind making $15-20 an hour and if you take out illegal immigrants companies would have to pay a more comparable wage. Heck, $11.50 an hour is still more than minimum wage.

I'll tell you about a car wash that's right down the road from where I'm working, I've gone there dozens of times in the last four years to get my car washed and it has always been staffed by what I presume to be illegal immigrants (They didn't speak English and grunted when my car was ready, not to mention there is a huge illegal immigration problem up here*). I was quite shocked to find that the last time I went there (about a month ago) and there wasn't a single non-English speaking person to be found. There were Italians, a couple of blacks and about three white guys working there cleaning cars. The place was still in business under new management and the prices were the same.

I find it very plausible that American's don't want to do that job, I find it plausible that NO ONE wants to do those jobs but to say that people wouldn't be WILLING to do those jobs to make ends meat, that's another story.


* I've been told this is a huge Coyote dumping area, on my way to my daughters Day Care there's always about 35-75 Latinos standing on a street corner waiting for work, this number is down considerably from around this time last year when there would be hundreds. I've heard reports of ICE cracking down.. so that might be why.

I live in a town thats pro-hispanic, as in our Mayor has basically made it a free haven and promised that they would not be deported. Downtown Hightstown is turning into little Mexico, and there are several stores that have a Spanish name with an English one underneath it. Does this bother me? No, not really (and I'll tell you one more thing: The liquor store has flourished. The amount of money they make off of Corona is amazing). Most of them work in the local restaurants, six days a week, 12 hours a day. The rest work shit jobs that no one else wants to do at a warehouse in Cranbury. And you know what? They might be pissed that they have to work so many hours, but they are happier here than they were at home. And they make enough money to send it home where its worth even MORE money.

The only thing thats pissed me off about the whole thing, and its a minor thing too, is that they've started a taxi service in town to drive around the illegals because they can't get licenses. Now, I agree with this in principle, because if they don't have a license then they definitely shouldn't drive, but the taxi drivers themselves have a fucking death wish. They turn randomly, never blink, and drive, literally, in the middle of the road. And the police ignore them, but they will pull you over if your going 30 in a 25.

One more note: When these peoples children grow up, they will be fully integrated into our society and the whole language issue will become mute. Their all bilingual. And I've recently been trying to learn Spanish, because hey, why the hell not? Every time theres a huge influx of people from another country, peoples first reaction is one of fear. Their scared that their jobs will be taken. Their scared of the crime. Eventually, they all get integrated and its no longer an issue.
