David Mamet - Bambi v Godzilla

Some nice light reading at bedtime. Mamet has just made a very interesting point about Aspergers, Ashkhanazi (sp) Jews and the building of Hollywood.

This is a GREAT film book for fans of the great man and those interested in the movie business.

I strongly disagree. Usually books like this are like candy to me but I found his writing dull and unenthusiastic. It's like he's writing to get stuff off his chest but has no passion in doing so.

I started reading it a few days ago

It's not as good as Writing in Restaurants. I agree with Goldberg that it seems like Mamet was pissed and is letting off some steam. However, I am enjoying it because every chapter I read makes me imagine the kinds of people he is ripping into.
