Man, Now I wish that I would have gone. I had a couple of nice tickets picked out on Stub Hub, and my finger was hovering over the keyboard for a while before I gave up on it. The set list looks excellent--any word on the show itself?

Fucking hell, I'm deeply regretting not going. 39 songs???? With nearly all Disintegration being played? Shit.

Alexor, let us know if the local show was like that so I can scream a bit...

I saw them last night in Boston. Besides the 3 songs from the self titled album that served as speedbumps in the setlist, it was an amazing night.

I got over the lack of keyboards quickly. The rearranged versions sound great, with some different guitar embellishments.

They played 4 songs from the new album coming in September. They were solid, upbeat tunes, but this is only the 1st or 2nd time I'd heard most of them. That makes it pretty much impossible to get into them in a live setting, but with a nearly 3 hour show I didn't mind.

The highlights of the evening were (in random order) Hot!!!x3, Pictures Of You, A Forest, Jumping Someone Else's Train, 10:15, The Walk, The Blood, Prayers For Rain, 100 years, Lullaby, Push, Close To Me, Why Can't I Be You, From The Edge of The Deep Green Sea, The Lovecats, A Night Like This, and Killing An Arab. So...yeah, I'd say for at 2/3 of the show they were completely on fire.

Some of my favorite albums songs (Disintegration title track) didn't translate that well, whereas songs I wasn't crazy about before (the first album stuff) was incredible. The fluffy dance songs like Walk and Lovecats were electrifying, even though I was never too fond of them before.

For the 2nd half of the show I was involuntarily dancing so hard I wasn't even staring into the stage anymore, I was just feeling it. Definitely some of the most fun I've ever had at a show.

Full setlist:

Plainsong, Prayers For Rain, alt.end, A Night Like This, End of the World, Lovesong, Sleep When I'm Dead, Pictures of You, Lullaby, The Perfect Boy, From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea, Hot Hot Hot, The Only One, The Blood, Wrong Number, The Walk, Signal To Noise, Push, Inbetween Days, Just Like Heaven, Primary, Us or Them, Never Enough, One Hundred Years, Disintegration

Encore 1:

Lovecats, Freakshow, Close To Me, Why Can't I Be You?

Encore 2:

Play For Today, A Forest

Encore 3:

Boys Don't Cry, Jumping Someone Else's Train, Grinding Halt, 10:15 Saturday Night, Killing An Arab

I am going to give in and violently overpay for Radio City tickets, aren't I.

Sorry about the delay, I forgot to come back to post.

I've wanted to see The Cure live for more than ten yeara but never had the chance before. Still, I'd kept my expectations in check, considering their age I wasn't expecting too good of a show.

It was very, very good. We had the same set-list but they didn't play Lovecats. I usually get bored with long shows but this time I would have gladly stayed for a fourth encore, wich the crowd was requesting.

The band sounds tight and Robert Smith took great care of his voice because he still sounds exactly the same.

The absence of a keyboard may bother some purists but I liked how it forced a different approach towards the songs. The highlights for me were From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, Pictures of You, Play for Today and 100 Years.
