Watching 15 minutes of EVAN ALMIGHTY...

is about 15 minutes too much. I guess it was nice Carrell was able to recycle a couple jokes from The Office but, man, what garbage. I saw a bit near the beginning where he learns about his destiny and starts building the Ark. Does it get any better than "OLOL, mountain man with lots animals pooping on him"?

No, it really was one of the worst films of last year. Jonah Hill has a good moment, and the rest is just shit. It's also one of the most confused movies ever, stemming from the religious elements the film doesn't seem to understand.

Didn't this movie cost close to 200m? I ask because it sure as hell doesn't look it. Save for the final few scenes (and I'm being kind; the sfx are terrible), the rest is shot in that bland, flat television style that makes the dull proceedings even duller.

People can rail about Uwe Boll all they want, but Hollywood continues to give Tom Shadyac millions.

Towards the end, each feel-good montage just kind of segues to the next. My theater had the wrong time listed for Gone Baby Gone so we had an hour to kill and we decided just to wander and watch this for a bit. I realize I only caught 2/3 of the movie, but God was this bad.

I saw it at a preview screening. I fell asleep and missed about an hour. Couldn't even be bothered to dislike it, really.

It's worth adding that it was the last 2/3rds as well. In the final scene, everybody dances to C+C Music Factory. In 2007.

Saw the whole thing and damn was that movie horrible.

"There's a new commandment: Do the Dance!"

Is there much worse than a bad comedy?
