How long until Sharpton shows up to protest?
I see no resemblance at all. I can't see how this is anything other than shamelessly racist.
Aw, Curious George, I can't stay mad at you.
If anything, George Bush bares a resemblance to Curious George. I'm pretty sure that one's been pointed out before too.
So... has anybody else here tried calling them yet in order to pull the Classic Unasked-For Grinder Scam on the Clinton campaign?
They've sold out of the tee shirts! Sold out! I guess it's too much to hope that since they were sold at a bar, that every racist moron who bought one was blind, stinking drunk at the time, and hopefully burned it the next day? Please?
Holy fuck, this is in my city. I've never heard of the bar though.

Fucking christ, someone get me out of this town already. I fucking hate marietta.
"We're all in this together-"

"What ya'll need to do is get the fuck off my parkin' lot whatcha ya'll need to do."

Oh, racist crusty old white guys. Never failing to bring this country down
post #13 of 40
He's on the right side of this argument, but is anybody going to mention that Reverend complaining about how black people have been "deplicted" for centuries?
You are failing to see the situation objectively. If Obama knew to keep his place in society he wouldn't have a problem with him.

Or it could be that he's just resentful that Obama is a million times more successful than he or his mongrel, sucking off truckers for meth and pancakes spawn are ever gonna be.
This guy rules his voice sounds just like Terry Funk circa Road House
post #16 of 40
Hah. "Deplicted".
If this worked, apparently there IS a market for my Obama T-Shirt design...
CNN had the headline shirt link activated for a while.

'Man says Obama looks like a monkey"

It went down pretty quick.

That hillbilly motherfucker needs a bullet to the brain.

One simple shot to the back of the head. Stain his biker beard red with his blood. Let his children cry and drink their PBR.

FUCK this country.

YOU RUINED MY DAY SPUNKMEYER!

My apologies. Let me make it up by reminding you that there's a NEW EPISODE OF LOST TONIGHT!!!

Your day just got better.

A little background on this guy. He's a known racist and local nutbag. The bar he owns used to be in a predominantly white area. Over the years the area of Marietta he is in has become predominantly Hispanic. All the businesses in the area around him now cater towards Latin crowds. So this douche went all out a few years ago and started putting up racist and hateful signs. The community has repeatedly spoken out on how he doesn't stand for Marietta and how we feel he's a fucktard. But he relishes the attention and keeps it up. Saying he stands for Marietta or decrying the city because of him is just stupid. There are racist idiots everywhere, we just happen to have one who made national news and he is eating up the attention. We hate him, but we can't make him leave.

Here are a few of his recent signs:
"Hillary should have married OJ"
"INS Agents Eat Free"
"What a decision for Democrats. A Nut with Boobs or a Boob with Nuts?"

Feel free to abuse him, we here locally do as well. But don't dump all of us in the same boat just because we live here too. That's just ignorant.

I thought Atlanta \ Marietta had a huge black population. I'm not quite sure why he hasn't been killed yet....

The Atlanta metro area does have a large black population, but it is really limited to a few areas - the city itself, the counties south of the city near the airport, Stone Mountain, South Cobb, etc. But in the heavily populated northern and western counties (Cobb, Gwinnett) the largest minority groups are Hispanics.

As for why he's still breathing, he's always been just a shit talker and people generally ignore him. He gets no business that I can see, I believe he owns the land or has some kind of cheap ass lease and he just hangs around to serve beer to his same 5 moronic friends and make his stupid little signs. He's always been the village idiot. Harmless and laughable.
Harmless my ass. I am sure there are people cheering him and laughing at his shirt. That hurts us all as people.

And I don't think that it's just a small vocal minority of racist fucktards. This election is bringing out the worst in my own race as far as I can see.

New Lost tonight! Woo hoo! Part one of a two part finale!

Ahh. Yeah my only experience in GA has been those areas you mentioned, so that makes more sense from my perspective.

That's actually pretty funny. I wonder where he heard it.

Yeah, and not racist, I may add. That's how you know it's unoriginal.

Probably saw it on a bumper sticker.

What bothered me is that the shirts sold out. Also, there's a lot of other reasons to hate east cobb/marietta. If it's not racist rednecks, it's the worst of privileged silver spoon-food wasp culture.
Just had a lady from Marietta check in...asked her if she'd heard about it. She wrongly assumed that I was FOR the shirts and started talking about uppity coloreds.

It was like I'd traveled back in time.

I think my mouth agape and my disbelieving stare tipped her off that I wasn't on her team , so she iced over and went to her room.

But this is okay? Nice double-standard, guys.

Clearly the monkeys deserve a voice in this debate. I call upon Clyde from "Every Which Way But Loose" to offer us his take on this issue.
Too leftist.

Somebody call Bonzo out of retirement.
There's one as-yet-unexamined aspect of this story. It's kind of fascinating that people like this can make a visual connection between a person and a monkey (and, really, one should be able to do that with any person, because, well, we're primates), but would probably be loathe to put any stock in evolution. Just some food for thought.

I see no double standard here. Obvious caricature and obvious racism are two different things. You'd have a hard time convincing me the Obama shirt is a caricature of Barack Obama.
It's not hard to imagine a PRO-Obama shirt featuring Curious George, since our current president is A) named George and B) unmistakably similar to a fucking chimp. You'd have to be pretty locked into your confused, backwards mind-set to think that a shirt featuring a chimp named George will make people want to vote against Obama. This almost, but not quite, fails at being deliberately racist. How pathetic is that?

Twenty imaginary bucks says the shirts were made in China.

Oh shit, good call. That didn't even register on my radar.

Also in agreement with what Reggie said.

No double standard...blacks were compared to monkeys during slavery and segregation, and made to feel less human because of it.

Bush is obviously a fuckhead and deserves the label.

There's a couple of broken sarcasm meters in this thread I think.

Quite. I'll try to add a slide-whistle to the next one.

It's a damn shame to see my fellow Simians being used in such a fashion, but here is another product in what promises to be a long line clever products from people who say "What? Racist? How can it be racist? It's just a monkey. Obama's *ears* stick out, you see. *That's* the comparison. There's nothing racist about it."

http://www.plunderbund.com/2008/06/1...st-obama-doll/

Apparently they're on backorder already.

I wonder what the button on the lapel says. Something smashingly witty, no doubt.
