Meh. It was the 1st one I saw, and it was OK enough that I figued I'd like to see more, but almost all of what followed kind of sucked. This one was far from great, and IMO the only ones that rose above it are Cigarette Burns, Pelts, The Black Cat and MAYBE the Screwfly Solution. I don't see why they didn't make a period piece like they did w/ the Black Cat & just adapt the original short story. It probably would have been scarier, I think.

I keep meaning to check out more episodes of this show, but of the ones I have watched, the majority have been underwhelming to say the least. Gotta agree with Iggy, though...Cigarette Burns and The Black Cat are pretty good (especially the latter...I REALLY liked that episode, mostly just for Combs' excellent lead performance).

I have to say, though, Kevin...this:

Despite a need to boost retail record sales, a hammer was probably not the best promotional item to give away with the latest Kid Rock album.
...was great.

thanks i think i need to revisit cig burns because carpenter is my favorite director and I didn't like it but EVERYONE says its the best. I'm more partial to Pro-Life and dreams in the witch house and incident on a mountain road. i'll have to go back and watch cig burns again i guess.

See, I LOATHED Pro-Life. That was one of the worst things I've ever seen, and not because I was offended by the subject matter or anything like that, but because the episode was just so flat out AWFUL. I mean, I'd heard it was bad, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be THAT bad.

"Cigarette Burns" wasn't good. The film-nerd-as-hard-boiled-gumshoe-gimmick was cringe-worthy.

"Right To Life" has a kind of horrifying first third, especially if you're married.

i liked pro-life...whether or not its good is up for debate...i think im just a sucked for ron pearlman.

I love Perlman, he couldn't salvage that episode. Cigarette Burns is just pretty alright.

Gordon, Dante, Coscarelli and Landis' episodes I thought were really good ones.

I also liked Pelts and Pick Me Up. All the others I really didn't care much for, not even Miike's and it had Billy Drago.

drago's performance was...interesting. i own imprint on DVD and I'm not sure how i feel about it but I know it freaked me out and that's hard to do to most horror fans these days. but that 3...extremes movie freaked me out too and I didnt really like that. i'll have to check out pelts thought because i havent seen that one.
