Top 10 Jackie Chan Fight Scenes

Arguably appropriate for the Lists forum, but the experts hang here.

Angry Nintendo Nerd's countdown.

I can't honestly say I've seen all of these, but I wanna remedy that now.

Man, does he like talking about Jackie Chan or what?

This is a good list. I've never seen Dragons Forever (having only seen a couple of the Lucky Stars films) but based on that I need to see it.

I can't hit youtube at work, but is the fight with Benny "The Jet" from Wheels on Meals high on the list?

If not, I call foul.

Actually, the fights in Gorgeous with Bradley James Allan should be high on that list too!

Frankly, the list needs to be longer than 10. The guy has had some great fights. Or I'm not selective enough..

There are two fight with Benny Urquidez on the list, but I don't think they got that one.

Nevermind, they did cover it.

I've seen them all, with the exception of GORGEOUS.

Probably the funniest part of the DRAGON LORD fight isn't in that clip: Chan slides down a chute and lands an ass-kick on the villain that sends the poor bastard sailing across the room. It buttons up the whole sequence quite nicely.

The bike chase from PROJECT A isn't really a fight (it's a chase, just as the name would suggest!). Would've preferred to see Chan's fight with Richard Norton from CITY HUNTER rather than the STREETFIGHTER schtick (which is funny, but pretty clumsy for a fight scene). And including anything from FIRST STRIKE automatically lowers the credibility of this list.

Plus, where the hell is the "emotional kung fu" from FEARLESS HYENA? Hilarious, exciting, exhausting, and nowhere to be found!

Well, I think these things are always going to be highly subjective. I have nothing but love for kung fu films but I doubt my top three are anything like your top three.

Yeah, I know, I just love bitching about it.

I hate you. You show me some awesome fight scenes for movies that are out of print (I'm looking at you, Dragons Forever). DAMN YOU!!!

And yet if you went to 2 or 3 box stores you could probably watch a different copy of The Tuxedo every night for a month.

Tieman, Dragons Forever is shown currently on Kung Fu HD, and I have seen the fulm twice and have watched the final fight a few more times. If anyone has Kung Fu HD (I know it's available on Cablevision systems) it is a fantastic network. I also have seen Project A and Project A 2 but that was nowhere near as hilarious as the original film.

What the fuck! I want Kung Fu HD, damn you Comcast!

I'm calling DirecTV right now.

The two Benny fights are on the list, so that's something, even though Meals should be much higher.

Ultimately though, the lack of First Mission aka Heart of Dragon renders the list MOOT.

While I am glad to see Police Story 1 and 2 represented...Police Story III Supercop is much better than First Strike and should have had The scene where Michelle Yeoh hit a jump on a motorcycle and landed on a moving train, utterly classic. I Think Project A should have had at least one fight scene as well unless I missed it. Thankfully Drunken Master 2 was well represented as well as Dragons Forever.

Well, it is a top fight scene list (and a Jackie Chan one at that), so a Michelle Yeoh stunt would probably not make the list.

I thought the list was well balanced (of course there are so many Chan scenes to choose from). They kept the sillier stuff at the bottom, and topped it off with pure kickass stunts and fights.

Some of the scenes I've never seen before looked painful and blew my mind. ONG BAK and TOM YUNG GOONG have brought this brutal kitchen-sink style back, but here's where it was done 1st.

James May, OK I goofed, but Michelle Yeoh did the motorcycle stunt to join Jackie Chan who was already on the train.

Jackie Chan- global cinematic treasure.

Am I out of line in feeling he should be given an honorary Oscar when he reaches old age?
