Good Double/Triple Features

Thread Starter
This subject has been brought up a couple times, but I'll be damned if I can find 'em (search function don't help).

Last weekend me and my friend watched Teeth and Carrie, and this weekend we're going to watch the James Spader Sexual Fetish Triple Feature: Crash, sex, lies and videotape, & Secretary.

What are some good double/triple features you've had, or ideas for some? I've been trying to find a worthy partner for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 for a little while now, with no luck.

BONNIE AND CLYDE-THE WILD BUNCH-DILLINGER
TAXI DRIVER & ROLLING THUNDER

GOODFELLAS & KING OF NEW YORK

I had never heard of White Palace before now. We might have to break it up into two double features.
You should, it's the story of a younger man and a bolder woman.
I did a triple of loud 'n dumb brawn: BAD BOYS II, TORQUE, CRANK.
A double of card flicks: THE CINCINATTI KID and ROUNDERS.
It was all rainy out and I paired some off-kilter war movies: THE RULES OF THE GAME and ARMY OF SHADOWS.
A double feature that my friends assure me means I'm gay: WITHNAIL & I and Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN.
Me stepping off on some old school shit: LA DOLCE VITA and RIFIFI.

Those are ones I've done in the past and have worked well together but I know there's better. I usually feel like I'm wasting a day by doing any more than 2 at a time.

I'm hoping someone here has tried DAS BOOT and BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ together, both uncut. If so, you deserve a fucking medal.

Texas Chainsaw 2? How about Exorcist 2? Or Devil's Rejects?

What's a really good but unusual movie about high school? I'm looking for a Warriors companion.

I don't think it's a companion to The Warriors. But Brick is a really good and unusal movie about high school.

I've done that, since they're the same story, but I figured I'd break them up so it wouldn't be too repetitive.

I wanna have a Gregg Henryfest sometime soon. My friend has the key to an old theater that's been out of commission for a year so this dream may yet be realized on the big screen.

Charlton Heston Dystopian Future Trilogy:

If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Ripoll actually includes that in his top 10. Amazing flick.

Even better than that? THE LIMEY and THE MATADOR.

I might as well play the rest of my guy movie cards: THE LAST DETAIL and THE SAND PEBBLES.

My last go before I leave for dinner:

THE HUSTLER and THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR (McQueen)
BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID and THE STING (too easy)
DELICATESSEN and THE GREEN BUTCHERS (the latter is better)
M, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, VENGEANCE IS MINE and ZODIAC
LE SAMOURAI, THE KILLER, and GHOST DOG
THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS and ARMY OF SHADOWS
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. MATTHEW and THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT and WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT? (similar tones and humor, but that's about it)

IF... is a good and unusual school movie, but I'm not sure it'd pair well with WARRIORS.

You could also go with Class of 1984, or Over the Edge.

i like BOOGIE NIGHTS & NASHVILLE

One of my favourite triple bills at the moment is Vengeance Is Mine, Zodiac, Memories of Murder. They're all procedural crime thrillers, in a way, that use the genre definitions to look at other subjects. Vengeance is a character based piece, Zodiac is all about the desperate need for 'truth' and Memories looks at the Korean police department and how ramshackle it was.
Save the Green Planet!, Invasion of the Body Snatchers ('78) and They Live are good alien triple features.

Also, Save the Green Planet! can work as a double feature with Misery.
Just thought of this one as I was leaving the cinema the other day:

MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS/DOGVILLE
RESCUE DAWN/LITTLE DIETER LEARNS TO FLY

Hmmm...BRICK/MILLER'S CROSSING are both good, but I have feeling it would feel too much like the same movie when viewed back to back. Do they all have to have a recurring theme? Can it be two wildly different movies to give you two wildly different experiences in one sitting?

GOOD BURGER/PLATOON
My fanboy cross-genre kitchen-sink quadruple-feature:

ARMY OF DARKNESS
BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF
BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
HELLBOY

Because they're relatively new (within last year) releases. The "Oh, why don't you slit your wrists, because there's nothing good left in humanity" triple feature of No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood and topped off with The Mist. If you survive, sir, you are a better man than I.
Commando and Predator.

Lisa took my Class of 1984 idea. Cool points!

1. The Court Jester
2. Cronenberg's The Fly
3. West Side Story

Three movies in one night. And about a week later we were actually able to regain emotional coherence.
