That looks pretty damn interesting.
it looks a lot like the X-files.

The script that Joshua Jackson is acting off of is full of terrible dialogue in the short amount that I have seen so far.
Interested.

Don't get on a plane with Abrams apparently.
Oh snap! I spotted one Lost alumni. Let the crossover theories begin!

edit: Your link is down, here's a working one:

The pilot is floating out there on the intarwubz and after having watched it I agree. To be more exact, it's 1/2 The X Files, 1/4 Alias and 1/4 Lost.
And 4/4 FUCKING AWESOME

I loved it. It's totally my type of show. It is very X-Files-ish, but I'd say it's more like taking the pseudo-science mythology from Lost and spinning it off into another crazy direction. It's like J.J. said "okay, it's clear there's a fucking HUGE load of Lost viewers who go nuts for this mythology, let's make a show about that." Teleportation, wormholes, futuristic technology -- I love that the only limit is their imagination. And the great thing is, the story itself is so grounded and personal to the main character. It's her mission, and we're routing for her to figure it all out.

Awesome. Awesome awesome awesome.
I'm sure I'm gonna love this show when I see it.. I'm just not looking forward to when FOX finds some piss poor excuse for cancelling it whether its merited or not.
Abrams has earned enough goodwill from me TV-wise, I'll certainly check it out. Throw in Lance Reddick, and it's almost a guarantee that I'll watch the first season. (Although how will this affect Reddick's role on Lost?)
I liked it a lot, seems to be set fifteen minutes into the future. Lance Reddick was great here. And any show that gives props to ReGenesis (Peter Outerbridge cameo) is good in my book.
I had wondered what the music over much of this ep was - its John Murphy's score from Sunshine - good stuff.

Since they're from the same company, I'm sure they thought about that. Besides, how many epsiodes was Reddick in this season? 3? I'm sure he can fit that in.

I know I recognized music from LOST being used as well - the score during one of the bigger surprises near the end of the pilot was the same music LOST uses right as they're about to hit you in the head with a brick of revelation.

For those seeing this pre-air version, it'll be interesting to see how this changes when it airs for real. For one, that score is definitely a temp track, so the music will be entirely different. For another, this was shot before FOX decided to cut about 10 minutes of commercials from the show, so the real premiere will either have cut scenes restored, or new scenes shot (and it can use a few extra minutes, some of the big decisions take place off-camera). I'm also curious who they end up casting as the head of the super (villain?) corporation.

Looks like another winner for Abrams. More ALIAS than LOST, but that's fine with me - Abrams can make a new series similar to LOST in... say 2 years?
Normally I wouldn't post pirated material, but with the highly likely possibility that this was leaked by FOX, I figure what the heck. The pilot episode is out and about.
Just finished watching it. Pretty good so far. I'll hold my breath to see how long Fox keeps it on the air.
It was fine. Very X-Filesy, but that's far from bad. My biggest problem was Jackson's lines. WAY to quippy. Once they get to the lab, just about every line he has is a one liner and it started to get REAL annoying.
Watched this last night and hot damn was I impressed. Seemed like a more fun X-files without aliens....yet at least. Totally dug it and even Josh Jackson didn't make me want to punch him in the face. After we were done watching it my girl looked at me and said: "So how long do we have to wait to see the second episode?!" We loved it.

My girlfriend had the same reaction after I showed it to her.

Warren Ellis posted the openings to some British Sci Fi shows this morning. One of them, Doomwatch, reminded me a lot of the concept for Fringe.

Thought some of you might be interested if you like what you have seen of Fringe so far.
Reddick had a pretty cool line-
"You're wasting my time and your breath"

Cannot wait to use that on a customer soon!

The music straight out of Signs and Lost is pulling me straight out of it.

If details like a temporary score bother you so much, you probably should just avoid leaked, unfinished pilots.
I've seen half of the pilot so far and I can't get past how annoying the lead is. She's like the anti-lead. Every word that was coming out of her mouth was grating.

Am I really the only person who's noticed this?
Anybody watching the 2-hour pilot right now? I just started watching the second hour, and I kinda like it, especially John Noble (Denethor) as the scientist dude.

"Let's go make some LSD!"

Uhhhh, I just saw Noble, this scientist chick, and a fucking cow watching "Spongebob" while eating takeout. Ooookay...
I liked it. Wish there was an annotated site with links to articles to some of what they are name dropping. Still fun. Should be on Fridays like X-Files was when it started to give that nice paranoid creep before the weekend.
At first I wasn't sold on the leads. Olivia just seemed so generic and I don't really care for Joshua Jackson but by the end of the episode I liked them quite a bit. The real winner is John Noble with the mad scientist role. He is fantastic. I hope that Lance Reddick gets something interesting to do besides simply being the boss. Ditto for Olivia's cute assistant.

The opening was freaky good. Especially the co-pilot having his jaw melt off.
I liked it. The car chase felt unnecessary. John Noble did a decent job with what could have been an obnoxious character. The opening won a lot of goodwill from me, hopefully the show will justify it.

Um, I'm in NYC and I only got that Hole In The Wall show. Did I miss something?

Well, they showed that after Fringe aired. They'll reshow it on Sunday though, if you need to watch it on Fox.
I DVR'd it even after watching the pilot a couple of months ago, might check it out again when I don't have anything better to do this week. Spoiler. Mark Valley is groovy. Hope he comes back. Since I doubt they changed much, I would like to reiterate how annoying Jackson's constant one liners are. If they cut back on that and make her more interesting, I could really dig this show each week.
This was pretty good. The leads work well together. The concept seems to strike a good balance between episodic and long form. Also, its sufficiently gory. I hate the obtrusive 3D graphics though.
Loved it.

I thought that was kinda cool. A Panic Room ripoff, but cool. It did get a little too cute though when they showed the back of the 'B' in Baghdad...

I was on the fence until the lady pulled a Schwarzenegger by taking her skin off. That just surprised the hell out of me. It's a little weird to see Abrams putting another supersecret corporation dabbling in psuedo science as the 'villian' - even going to the point of having a small commercial for the company run during the show...
Wasn't that into it. Both in concept and execution, it felt a little forced. Didn't like some of the dialogue... like the comedy bits felt poorly integrated into the flow of the episode. The main female lead didn't have a very interesting presence, and Noble was overacting... although I felt that way about him as Denethor too. Josh jackson needs to stop using the term sweetheart. Strangely, I've always been a fan of Mark Valley- so there's that.
Wow so that was awful, JJ Abrams gets way too much credit. I mean Lost is fantastic but everything else I have seen from the guy isn't that great.
I enjoyed it, for the most part. I'm not in love with Olivia, by any means, but everyone else was pretty cool for me. The humor in the lab scenes worked for me, and I liked Josh's little tough guy moment with the suspect.

I'm a sucker for this kind of show, so I'm gonna be sticking with it. Global conspiracies and odd happenings are an easy way to sell me on a show.

There's a comic book miniseries starting. In the prelude freebie that I picked up last week, there was a picture of that Massive Dynamics billboard that you see on the side of the road. In the bottom left corner is the logo of the advertising subsidiary that manages the billboards, and [dramatic pause]... Credit Dauphine! That was a pretty cool detail.

Anyone read the #1 issue of the comic?
I liked the concept. I wonder if it's too late to change out the entire cast and rewrite the dialogue. What a mess. They can keep keep frankenstein and abaddon, though, but please ditch the most generic lead in TV history.

I half expected this Jackson line "Um, could this be any more fringey?"
I fully expect this to be cancelled inside of 6 episodes.

While, I think it has potential... it's like Threshold meets The Insider meets The X-Files and Fox isn't known for giving show a 'chance'.

I just watched the DVR of it 20 minutes ago and I can't remember anything memorable... this isn't must see TV for me, the trailer seemed misleading. I thought Jackson's character was the leader and he brought everyone in or some such deal but... it's off and I can't place what I don't like.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It was X-Files with Chandler Bing as Mulder.

Weak. Derivative. Peaked at the opening scene. Probably won't keep up with this.

Personally, I loved the first two seasons of Alias. But man, did that show crash & burn after that...
Well I fucking loved (most of) it. Amazingly cinematic, fun characters, fun science craziness, conspiracies, cows, Lance Reddick... I'm along for the ride.

Not sure why there's so much hate. "A mess"? "Awful"? Don't see that in the slightest.
Watched the Pre-air... Do they still miraculously manage to return Mark Valley to normal after he becomes the fucking hollow man?

On the plus side, I think the lead's a great find.
Great fucking premiere. The dynamic between the three lead characters is perfect, and Noble knocks that character out of the park. "I just pissed myself." "Do I stay in the car?" I thought it was going to be cliche and they'd kill her boyfriend within the first 15 minutes, but they ended up using him to give her a heartfelt motivation to solve the case...

...but it was really all just super clever misdirection. I hope they find a balance between stand alone episodes and a big mythology like they've been hinting at. Here's hoping it did well in the ratings.

Oh yeah forgot he did that. Ok well that show wasn't too bad but seriously they flash his name to mean quailty but looking over his record.....well it's just Lost isn't it? Even Cloverfield was disappointing.
No, it wasn't.

It felt like it kept "meeting" new shows as the hour and a half went on . . . Some X-Files here, some House-style bullshit medicine over here with a dash of Altered States, culminating in an Alias-style ending.

Will probably watch again, but it felt like a mish-mash of ideas from J.J. Abram's notepad.
Surprised by the reaction. What else you want from TV? Sure, it's not Lost nor The Shield nor Mad Men but not everything can be a masterpiece. Seems like good geek science fun to me.

I didn't love the car chase into Scott's death and the hold in the arms-dying-last words of warning cliche. But aside from that I thought it was pretty cool. And I like the three mains.
I watched it again. Same thing as what was leaked before, despite the network's claim that it was changed. And I still like it.
I don't like the female lead but it got me interested. I'll give it a few weeks.

Seeing as how it was created by one of the creators of Lost, I don't think it's wrong to have high expectations.

Again, it's an okay show (the production values are damn good), but a bit of a jumble. I, for one, wasn't as impressed with the lead as some others, and I'm skeptical of Joshua Jackson's character. I didn't buy the scene where he got the guy to talk by smashing his fingers with a coffee mug (since on every Fox show, torture needs to be shown as an effective method of interrogation). It's hard to pull off "Badass" when you don't have a chin.
The coffee mug scene was the lowlight of the episode.

I consider myself an expert at suspending disbelief, but there comes a point where you're suspending so much of it from so many different logical fronts that it's exhausting. Jackson's overnight transformation from on-the-run gambling man to mug-weilding FBI hench. Frankenstein's familiarity with software after being in a home for so many years. Jackson's decision to stay with Dad (who, besides spurting in his pants a little, didn't seem all that crazy after his first few scenes). And that's not even counting all of the actual fringe stuff that I was already expecting to have to suspend belief for.

I'll keep watching for killer baby, though.
I want the doctor crazier. And Jackson more rough science, beating the shit out of people and unleashing what is in his head. I guess I want Jackson to be the Genesis of Mad Scientist.

I could believe the coffee mug scene. He hasn't been a fucking boy scout, so yeah, he might go a little nuts and mean.
