I think I may check this out.

I checked out original piece on it, and oddly enough I ended up watching Mosquito last night on the Sci Fi Channel.

Is it available to rent in store? I've been waiting to see this ever since it came out.

According to the official site! And on blockbuster - http://www.blockbuster.com/catalog/movieDetails/310343

Hate those exclusives.

I note in your article you mention he's the guy that made Wendigo. I used to see that years ago on the shelf at the video club I belonged to, and meant to rent it forever, but never got around to it, and sadly that club is no more. IS Wendigo a good film?

It wasn't what I had expected, but I think it still manages to be pretty creepy. It's an inexpensive indie and the atmosphere in it goes a long way. Plays a little like one of the more psychedelic supernatural X-Files eps.

It's not a good film. It's a GREAT film.

One of the pull quotes for this was from some critic who compared what Larry Fessenden is doing today to the run John Carpenter had in the late seventies and early eighties, and shit, I have to agree. Even if Fessenden is doing it with a much straighter face.

I would run to catch "Wendigo", for it is a bit "X-Files"-y except that it also touches on a number of significant themes about the power and significance of folklore and myth. Though I think his earlier films are even stronger, see them all.

Thanks. I'll add it to the queue.

I was lucky to see this in a theatre. One of the best indies of last year. BTW, you might want to watch (or rewatch) "Wendigo" before seeing this.
