The Fly: The Opera

Who knows where I should start this thread? It's a musical, so this seems like as good a place as any.

Anyway, as most of you probably know, David Cronenberg has teamed up with the LA Opera to bring The Fly to the stage with music by Howard Shore, costumes by Denise Cronenberg with Placido Domingo conducting.

Obviously, this has the potential to be the very best thing ever!

It's on at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris for a few performances in July before moving to LA in September.

I'm in the UK and have just purchased tickets for one of the Paris shows. I'm ridculously excited! Any other chewers going/thinking about going to LA or Paris to see this? Is there any way it can possibly fail?

I'm going to try my damnedest to see it if the price is reasonable.

I would do unspeakable things to get tickets to this.

Why is there an MPAA rating on the main page for an opera?

Perhaps it's the Movies to Plays Adaptation Association

I checked the LA Opera website but it says "call for availability" for tickets to the LA Shows. I'm not sure if that means they've already gone or if they're not available for the public yet.

A quick look at the prices on their production of Tosca on a weekend range from $36 to sit in the gods, going up to $238 to be in a position to have Brundlegoo drip on you. There's about 12 increments in between. You'd expect the prices for the Fly to be comparable. The Paris tickets are roughly in that range, not that that means anything.
