Weeds, after a few high points two episodes back, is looking to have completely lost its steam. Well, at least (unlike season three), this season was at least interesting for the first seven or eight episodes.

Everything not involving Nancy or Celia is pretty good still. I loved how the Tijuana bartender wouldn't talk to Senor Flippy-Flop because he was the sidekick.

So has everyone pretty much ditched the show this season? I thought the last episode was quite the lead-in to the upcoming finale. That final scene was incredibly intense.

EDIT: Also, doesn't it seem that Celia has to die? I honestly don't know where else they can go with her character.

I'm watching this season out up I think I'm done after that. The characters behave in completly nonsensical ways, it's clear the writers have given up so why wouldn't I? Nancy makes bone headed move after bone headed move, Silas convinces a women to sell weed exclusively out of a retail shop, please.

I dunno. This last episode was kinda good. But the show's lost most of it's magic for sure.

And Celia went everywhere. Start watching season 1 again and you can see how here character transformed way too much.

I do love Sunjay.

Nealon and Andy's little moments are genuinely funny. Nealon's non-reaction, then calling INS was great, as was Andy's seduction. I even liked the crosscutting between the dancing and the shootout.

But as we all know, everytime this show shows signs of promise, it immediately changes direction, plot, conflict, and character motivation in the next episode.

I still like the show, and will probably keep watching (my wife still loves it), but I think the big problem with the show is that its lead is far and away the worst character.

Whatever was charming or adorable about Nancy Botwin has been forgotten long, long ago, and now she's just this wandering airhead whose impulsive behavior fucks up everybody else's lives. I'm sick of Mary Louise-Parker's slurry delivery . . . She's the one character on the show that doesn't smoke pot, and she's the only one that acts like she's stoned the whole time.

I would be perfectly happy if Romany Malco showed up, killed Nancy, and took everybody back to Agrestic.

I want Quinn to come back and get with Silus again. And I would love if they killed off Nancy. They won't, but a guy can dream. Also, do not fuck with Mexicans. They will take a sander to your face.

It was pretty ok, I thought. I've never thought the series has deserved the hype it's received, and don't follow it very closely, but that was a decent season finale.

Still wish they'd offed Nancy, though.

I thought it was terrible. Doug was the only high point. Nancy and Celia should die and the show should be refocused on Silas, Andy, and Doug. Hell, bring whatshisface and Helia back also.

I thought it was really good, this season. They had to go somewhere new, and they did, I think thats the pressure they face, and to their credit, every season is different.

That Doug scene kills me! I was cracking up at lunch today while talking to a friend about the upcoming shows this season and when we hit "How I Met Your Mother" I was choking up some cheesy tots (BK) ... I think Weeds has taken "Legendary" for me.

Overall I really liked the finale and my jaw was agape at the end with the ultrasound picture. I was like ... "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ON WEEDS!!?!?!?!?" ... if they resolve it with "Oh, she was just pregnant, ... hormones, don't worry about it" I'll be sad... it should be that it was an old ultrasound picture and now she has to try and get knocked up all next season to stay alive.

Also, glad to see the old spit fire Doug is coming back next season and hopefully it will mean more mischief and mayhem. The show needs more weed smoking.. that's what it was lacking this season, those hilarious scenes with Andy, Doug etc... smoking out and just being funny.

Jesus that Doug scene (prior to the masterbation) was bumming me out. They played that scene brilliantly. Love the fact that Andy came to terms with his feelings for Nancy. Wish they would have killed her off. Shane is totally getting busted. Loved Celia and Quinn. Didn't see that coming. And man was that DEA agent pissed. JEsus, he fucking rocked Scarface.

This show still makes me laugh so I still watch it. Enjoyed this season (and those preceding it). A totally different, slightly darker tone than the last 3, but still good. It's 25 minutes or so that just seem to fly by.

The show still entertains me. It's not a knockout anymore but it's still contains one of the more interesting family dynamics on television. For that alone it's worth it.

The cliffhangers are getting a little goofy though. Even though this one was a whopper. Nancy always manages to save her sweet ass.

Andy needs his own show. I hope they do follow the boys to Mexico.
