A Farewell of Sorts - Page 2

Oh yeah, congratulations. No one deserves it more.
Oh, wow, this is going to send me into a downward spiral. When I wind up (back) in the gutter and on the pipe, it's on you, Beaks.

It truly has been a pleasure reading you here at CHUD. Good luck.
I'm sorry to see you go, but I love to watch you leave. Speaking of asses good luck with the talkbackers

Take care Beaks.
Beaks, nearly every article you write contains some phrase that makes me realize how much more I can still learn about movies and Hollywood. Working with you has been a tremendous pleasure and an inspiration.

I agree, I freely admit I have to look up a lot when it comes to his articles, and I love it. I appreciate the free education.
I thought you were the best writer working for Chud.

Thanks for not actually leaving, remaining a part of cyberspace, and being a kickass writer who didn't deserved to be mocked by Jena Malone like that.
It's a testament to CHUD that despite the sad loss of Beaks, it will continue on as the "Maverick" of geeksites. It's a testament to Beaks that his presence at AICN will instantly skyrocket it from "Merlin" to "Iceman." Well, at least "Goose," anyway.

You took our breath away, Beaks. Hope you come back to buzz the tower every now and then.
So does this mean we're never going to see a completion of that awesome film cannon series you started? Sucks for us.

Seriously: you're the shit and I'm not easily impressed. I'd much rather read your stuff over here, but you're good enough to seek out elsewhere. Good luck and congratulations.
I have to say, this is actually affecting my emotions a notch or two more than it should.

I'll certainly be checking over there to keep up with your work and regret the things that won't get written here (The Beaks Canon series being foremost among the lamented).
Good luck, Beaks, and thanks for the time you spent here. I'm a bit sorry that you won't stick around like before but you are a fucking fantastic writer and I look forward to catching more of your work.
Godspeed good sir.

In one day you took me from soaring heights of glee (with the above line), to soaring...sadness? Melancholy? Does that soar? Metaphorically? What?

Anyways, you were genius. And I guess you still will be, so what am I saying?

Thanks for the CHUD-specific memories. And the next time Jena Malone feels like belittling you, give her a right hook to the chops and drop her like a dead chihuahua. Because dammit, you deserve that moment, Beaks.

You guys are the best.

I promised Dev I'd do one more Canon before I leave, so... by Friday. I had a Howard Hawks piece half-finished, but I'm thinking I might swap it out for something less specific.
Beaks, you make me want to be a better film fan. You make me want to learn more about the process and the craft so I can come within a shouting distance of your intelligence and brilliance. You have made me care more about this site and what gets said here. I am truly going to miss you, like a relative leaving for a long sabbatical.

No offense, but as a fan of movies, you have helped me greatly. Kudos to you and next time you are in NYC, I owe you a few drinks...eventhough you are a Cavs fan.

Everyone's kissed your ass enough. So I'll just keep it short.

Always love the Beaks.
Well crap. Now I have to go look at AICN again. It's like having to go back to Tatooine, after I already sold my landspeeder and everything.
Dammit, Beaks, you ruined my morning.

I wish you the best of luck. You deserve it. And I'll keep following your stuff as always.

Sorry to see you go, Beaks.

Aw man. Good luck.

Not to mention the Crop Reports. Really loved getting a trustworthy opinion to certain films before they even started shooting - I'll looking forward to your review of Public Enemies when it comes out.

Best of luck to you.
Dang it...

Oh well. Anyplace is lucky to have you and CHUD has been very fortunate to have you around, but it seemed oh so brief. Best of luck to you, and you can count on us all to keep tabs on you and squeal with delight when you pop in over here!
Well that sucks. Good luck over there.
This is because Nick nixed the Talkbacks isn't it?

Good luck to ya, you'll be missed.
A sad day for CHUD. I hope everything works out great for you. You truly made reading the main page articles a joy. I guess, like the others, I will need to start checking out AICN again now.
You'll be missed... but damn if I take the time to go to AICN.
I'm happy for you that you're getting the gig, but sad for the rest of us and the site. AICN doesn't deserve the beauty of your written words.

I won't visit them... even for you. I refuse. Won't do it*

*Yeah, I will. Just to read your stuff though!
Bummer. Well, I'd rather have Beaks somewhere than nowhere at all, so whatever makes him happy.
Beaks and Russ are the best writers on CHUD. Just lost 50% of greatness.

See you at AICN and best of luck.
I do most of my movie reading here at work, where Chud is not blocked, but AICN is, so I'll miss ya Beaks! I'll try to get over on weekends to see what's what.
While I'll sorely miss your writing here, I can appreciate your desire to move forward. Wait...move on. Shit...move back.
Damn.
It'll be a crying shame to no longer see you on this site.
Good luck in the new job, leastways.

Now I'm really depressed...
Is it the Exposure? Is it the Pay? The colleagues?

I really do wonder what really attracts you back on AICN.
Unlimited supply of Goldfish crackers and diet Pepsi.
Why is the Lonely Man theme playing in my head?
Sadness. Thank you for being you Beaks. Russ, Dev, and yourself deserve to be known in more traditional media as well with the quality of writing you show every week here at CHUD.

Can someone go ahead and start up a "Beaks Just Posted an Article at AICN" thread so we know when it is safe to venture there?
Noooooo! Does this mean the end of Beaks' Canon column, or will it ever reappear on AICN? I was banking on that shit!

Will you be taking a daily staff writer spot on AICN or more of an occasional chime-in like the old days? Is anybody jumping onboard to fill your mighty shoes at CHUD?

I would like to second this vote.

All of the best to you, Mr. Beaks. You are an entertaining, insightful writer and one hell of a nice guy. Keep in touch.
Really enjoyed your stuff Jeremy. Good luck in your new/old endeavor.
You dragged me back from some bottomless pit, you can't leave me here alone now! Oh god Clarence, please!
You're a hell of a writer, Beaks. The real tragedy (for us) will be when you start getting rich off of your scripts and stop writing for websites completely. Good luck over there.

Also, I just wanted to tell you, you have the biggest dick I've ever seen on a man.

A small tragedy to suffer for the great gains of being able to see the movies based on his scripts ! A trade I will take, as I rather watch a great movie than read an article about one.
What is it they said in THANK YOU FOR SMOKING? Something about having to pay the mortgage?
Bummer. Congrats, Jeremy! I guess I'll see you at AICN.
Beaks, you're the shit - who else would name-check unproduced classics like GALE FORCE and THE TICKING MAN in their stories? And while I'm pissed you're leaving CHUD, it's good to know you're only a couple of bookmarks away. You did great things here; you'll certainly do great things at AICN. Bon voyage, brother.
Well if you're leaving, someone get a gorilla suit and some tape.
