Good review.

A question I've had about this book- is it entirely new material? Or is a lot of it excerpted from his website? Because he's written some very, very lengthy Seagal reviews over there.

I think it's mostly new material from what I can glean.

The footnotes alone in this thing make it worth reading.

At first glance, I thought this was about Sega.

It's mostly new material. I'm not a Seagal fan, but I'm still picking this up, because Vern can write about nearly anything and make it entertaining.

I'm not a particularly big Seagal fan myself, but this book is really and truly the goods. You won't regret checking it out.

I love this book. It's funny and reverential, the perfect combination. I've actually developed a newfound appreciation for Seagall. I just watched Out for Justice. Fun movie.

This Book + Netflix = Lots of Procrastination

My SS shit was never good enough for you, was it Bateman? It's all a damn popularity contest.

I'm about half way through, and the book's kinda good though. Not exactly revelatory to me personally, but Vern brings the L.O.L. as always.

Some of my favorite movies are the kind of '80s and '90s action movies Joel Silver pioneered. 48 Hours. Die Hard. The Last Boyscout. Long Kiss Goodnight. But as you can tell, and I'm not being snarky, I only had a taste for the classy ones. Between Hot Fuzz and this book, I'm starting to develop and appreciation for the more simplistic and possibly awful ones. There's something to be said about a movie both that's legitimately fun and the entertaining kind of shitty.

That doesn't mean I'm ever going to watch a Chuck Norris movie or a Dolph Lundgren DTV joint, but a few of these Seagall movies are a great time. And it's very funny to watch them while keeping track of his obvious thematic influences. Vern does a great job flying through his filmography and he has some very funny insights. I love the idea that Anthony Anderson and Tom Arnold are the R2-D2 and C3PO of the Anderzej triology.

OUT FOR JUSTICE has something for everyone.

And this book is the goods.
