Clone Wars Trailer

Is it a good thing to feel like I am taking my online life (such as it were) in my hands to start a SW thread? I didn't see this discussed elsewhere but apologies if it has been.

Took the kids to Kung Fu Panda last night (I giggled as much as they did) and saw the 2 minute trailer to Star Wars: Clone Wars.

Being a long time SW fan (saw the original in the theaters when I was 7 blah, blah,blah), I pay attention to SW news and knew about Clone Wars. But I have to say, the folks at LucasFilm sure know how to make a trailer! When it was over my 9 year old son looked at me and said "We. Are. Going. To that." and my reply was , "Yes. We are."

The whole theater was full of families and it was funny to hear all the little boys and the dads (just bigger versions of little boys really) have similar reactions.

I'm not sure how long the trailer has been out but this is the first I have seen it and I haven't seen much discussion so I just wanted to test the waters and get a feel for what other movie buffs (SW or non-SW fans alike) think about the trailer and the concept of Clone Wars overall.

This looks interesting. Though, i must say that i'm getting a little tired of Clone Troopers. I've kinda seen enough of them. Then again, i was glued to my set when the Clone Wars cartoon series aired on Cartoon Network several years back.

Is this a new trailer? I saw this last week.

I'm going to go see the movie, don't know much about it though.

Don't know if it's new or not. It was new to me. With 4 kids and starting a new business, I don't get out to the movies like I used to (and it sucks because I love going to the cinema), so it was the first time I had seen it.

It really appealed to the 12 year old kid in me and though the sylistic approach looks a little funny when humans are rendered, the ships and many aliens and robots and such look like what we are used to in the live action movies.

While I love to go to the cinema, I find I'm not as easily entertained as I once was, but Star Wars (warts and all) entertains me for the most part. I just enjoy watching it. It doesn't need to be a transcendent experience every time.

Maybe it's because Lucas has ass-raped my childhood so much I have Stockholm Syndrome. Thanks for the reminder Scott!

Whatever the reason, I'm looking forward to seeing this with my boy.
