I hate the entertainment branch over here.

I have nothing to contribute.

It's what your country gets for giving us Tokio Hotel

You got Juggaloos. Bringing up Tokio Hotel is like comparing Lake Tahoe to Auschwitz in that respect.

..sorry for derailing...hangs head in jealousy...
Hey no problem. But lord knows with that mix of german and latin phrasing. You are going to give some goths and rivet heads some serious hard-ons.
Back on topic. Its about Freakin time!!!! I can't believe F/X makes us wait nearly 15 months before the new season.

In case anyone is interested, the FX site has just posted some selected scenes from the upcoming Final Season. Now be warned, SPOILERS may be present so watch at your risk. I'm much to excited about the new season to have stayed away. They were quite good. Here's the link:

I'm tempted to indulge in an official 'strike-team' t-shirt. Then fantasise about busting down random doors. I'll use the badge from the Dirty Harry boxset.
I want a Decoy Squad t-shirt. Waylon Burke is the MAN
post #31 of 1191
I'd buy a Claudette wig, but she changes her crazy hair so often I can't keep up.

Never mind, two basketballs should do nicely for the side boob shot.

Jeez...when you put it like that, it seems like forever!?!

Nah, but I guess when you consider that we've been waiting like 18 mos., or something...a half-a-hundred days or so, don't seem soo bad...

I'm just hoping that Chiklis gets his due recognition for his character in this series, especially for the final season. Dude is on point!!
I know, it seems like years since we got some new Shield Episodes. I'm just glad we were able to get 7 Seasons out of this great show. I've heard rumors for years that The Shield was going away.

Sep 2....almost here!
Can't wait for this to start.

Had to get my Chiki fix by watching that Lucy Lui vampire movie. Not a good movie, but worth forwarding to the bit where Chiklis does one of the best doubletakes at vampire nonreflection of all time.

And what a good choice by myself. I am half way through season 4 and this is just getting better and better. I hope I have torn through it come September.

This show is quite a gem indeed.

And while watching I kept on wondering who would win a smack-down between Omar, Jack Bauer and Mackey. (Sorry if this has been debated at length already. Which is definitely not out of question.)

Just wait until you get to Season Five. Thats when, in my mind, the show reached its peak which has continued on into Season 6.

Jack Bauer would get lit up first, leaving Omar and Mackey for the final showdown.

Some minor comments on the finale. As you might have guessed, it doesn't look good for vic, at least according to Claudette:

"But I think it's the greatest finale ever. This finale is what Vic Mackey deserves," she says with particular emphasis."

Of how many episodes does the final season consist? 13? 10? And any Guest stars like Close or Whittaker?

I think Omar would just wait for Bauer and Mackey to cancel each other out and then cap em both while whistling his tune.
13 episodes, I think. No guest stars. Ryan didn't think it was necessary.

also, has anyone listened to the commentaries for season 5? Are they any good?

Ahh!!! Zomg...so exciting, thanks for sharing!

I don't know who is more deserving, at times...Vic or Shane, tho...
I'm guessing that it's going to end with both Vic and Shane dead. There are so many possibilities about how this happens that it boggles the mind. Maybe Tavon returns to take out Shane? It also sounds like something left open from an early season is going to catch up with Vic. Formally, I could see that something to do with Terry Crowley would be a good way to finish off the show, but that seems too obvious. I'm going to start going through the old seasons anyway to get ready for September. Maybe some loose thread will jump out at me.

Oooooh, that doesn't sound good.
It's gonna end with the Strike Team putting their differences behind them and realizing that what's done is done and it's time once again to work together. They'll cement this pact by meeting together for dinner at the Farmington Diner. Vic will arrive first. He'll seat himself and pass the time by making a selection from the mini-jukebox at his table. Any Way You Want It will begin to play just as Shane walks into the diner and heads over to Vic's booth. Vic and Shane will make small talk and then Julian will enter and take a seat next to Shane. There will be a guy in a booth at the diner who sort of looks like Tavon, but it's not Tavon. Ronnie will arrive but will have trouble parallel parking in front of the diner. Vic, Shane, and Julian will munch on onion rings just as Ronnie finally parks his truck and makes his way to the diner entrance. Vic will look up and

Hey, in Russ's interview with the director/producers of Eagle Eye on the main page? Has a little blurb about the Shield finale. No, I'm not posting it. Go read it on the main page (and give them a page hit).

Hahah...you sound like my roommate, and his newfound obsession with The Shield...

I don't think I've seen anything like this recently. It's like the second coming of the Wire/Soprano's last seasons...haha.
This show has owned me since its debut episode.

I actually bumped into Walton Goggins at the grocery store about 5 years ago. Helluva nice guy. Moltisanti's avatar always reminds me of that day.

I would also venture to say that its preferable to watch the seasons in sequential order. The Shield is one of those shows that reference events from past episodes and also past seasons. Having knowledge of previous seasons will make watching each episode all the more intense.

For my money seasons 2 and 5 were the best; couldn't tell you how many times my heart started pounding so fast watching some of these episodes.
