For Those About To Rock We...Suck Wal-Mart's Dick?

This would piss me off something fierce if AC/DC had done anything of relevancy in two decades.

They'll go to Wal-Mart but not Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Bastards.

Heh.

My friend and I were talking about this news annoucement just last night. There was a ton of negative talk about ACDC being "sellouts" and whatnot over at RollingStone.com. It boggles the mind, really...if there's ANY band out there that's had trend-avoidance integrity, it's ACDC. As if Brian, Angus and Malcolm made a band decision: "fuck yea, mate, let's give NA selling rights to our new album exclusively to Walmart!" It's business as normal.

Now...if they put tour prices in the Eagles stratosphere, then we'll talk.

That said, here's the funniest comment I saw over at RS:

“Bon Scott just turned over in his grave……”, and threw up in disgust.

AC/DC join a club currently occupied by Garth Brooks, Journey and the Eagles as artists who have made their albums exclusively available for purchase via the retail giant
Journey sold out!?!? No, fucking, WAY.

AC/DC

All their songs sound the same anyway.

Alot of bands are doing this now, and not just with Wal-Mart...Collective Soul had a deal with Target.

Who's going to actually buy this record that doesn't shop at Wal Mart? It's bad PR but probably great business for them.

Since it's only being sold at Walmart, no one.

The 1st single from AC/DC's Black Ice, 'Rock 'n Roll Train':

The suckitude level is major. Perfect background music for the grimy aisles of Wal-Mart.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. That was awful. This makes me sad. Though I can't say I'm surprised. I essentially gave up on the band after Stiff Upper Lip - this just cements it.

I don't hate it. I'd say they've certainly done worse before.

No it wasn't bad by generic rock standards, but given AC/DCs pedigree it's just terrible. There was absolutely no energy. There wasn't even a guitar solo. It's like AC/DC in name only without a trace of anything that made the band great.

I was going to finish it, then I needed to use the Firefox tab for something else.

It sounds like an outtake from Blow Up Your Video, only without the reverb and over-loud drums.
Well that was underwhelming. Will there never be a good reason for me to step foot into Wal-Mart?

I liked it. But I laugh at Beetle Bailey on occasion, so my taste is suspect.

Sadly, it's still a lot better than Metallica's new stuff.........
It's not a bad song. It's just the same song they've been doing for decades.
Uh, yeah. Sounds exactly like every other AC/DC song ever released to me.
