Bluff the Olson: I'm gonna be on "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!"

For all my fellow NPR nerds out there, tonight I will be competing in the Bluff the Listener Challenge on Chicago Public Radio's news quiz show, "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!"

I'm not sure if and/or when the segment will actually air (I know our local Green Bay affiliate air it every Sunday at noon), but I am supposed to wait by my phone tonight between 7:30 and 9:00 pm, at which point they'll call me up and I'll play the game.

The big prize? Carl Kassel will leave the greeting on my answering machine.

Anyway, summersmile felt I should share that with all of you, so there you go.

Because it's super exciting news!

Carl Kassel on your answering machine! Do you have something already planned out for him to say?

They air it here at 11am on Saturday, but as I said, I have to work. BAH! :P So, I'll be catching this on the podcast as soon as it goes up.

I think they have a pre-written message, but I'm not really sure. Like I said, not sure when or if this segment will air, so I have no idea when the podcast will go up, but I would assume that if the show airs this weekend, it should be on iTunes by this Sunday.

And thanks Doc, Misfit. I'll do my best.

They also have them on their main webpage that I linked to, just in case people don't feel like iTuning.

Yeah, I podcast it as well, and I love it. It's so much fun. The episode in which they were all losing their shit over a story about a ropy sea creature that was possibly the first organism on Earth to have sex was so great.

Thanks all the same, Iggy. I actually have a review of House of Usher pending, and I'm just waiting for Alex to approve it. However, he's dealing with some real life stuff now, and that always comes first.

As for my appearance on the show, I really didn't have much of a chance to throw in any sort of references to anything that I wanted to, but I really did want to throw a shout out to my CHUD peeps. Alas...

Oh...heh. I'm an idiot. I haven't actually heard the whole show yet. They called me a little bit before my segment started, and then they talked to me for a little bit before the game. I lost, they thanked me for playing, and I thanked them for the opportunity, and then hung up. That's about it, really, but it was still cool.
