Wherein I Fellate CHUD Yet Again

Eight years I been comin' to this place. Eight. Goddamn. Years. And it just gets better all the time, Nick's comics aside.

Seriously, you bastards do amazing work. Just amazing. I think I'm a better, smarter person because of this fucking website. Yeah, I know, that's a pretty scary thought, but still, it's true.

Hats off to you and all the hard work you do. And thanks for letting me hang around people who are way cooler than me.

Hussy.

No, but I 100% agree with you. No better place on the net.

My first class in college, in '02 I saw a guy on this page, asked him about it, and he gave me the address. This site has pretty much been my main guide to the world of cinema, making me the go-to-guy for movie information from everyone I know, and really expanding my horizons to different types of films.

Also, I didn't speak to that guy after that class, until he PM'd me on the message boards earlier this year, remembering me choosing the name "pagoda" after watching The Royal Tenenbaums.

I remember busting up to Molt's crazy antics back in late '05. Only did I get the nerve to join a year later to kill time at work. Huzzah.

My first time reading CHUD was for Slater's review of MXP: Most Xtreme Primate back in '04. Four years on or so and it's my first destination every morning.

I don't remember when I started coming here. Sometime in 2000 I think. But I didn't start really posting or reading the message board until a year or so ago. It's an awesome place, with one of the most unique tones and attitudes towards movies that I have seen. I dig it.

I was a big fan of Nick and Devin in their IGN days, and followed the trail of breadcrumbs over here when they ditched IGN for greener (lawl) pastures. I lurked on the forums for ages and finally decided to post a while back, and history was made.

I was looking for a place to discuss the impending Matrix sequels in 2003. Other boards I found made AICN's Talkbacks seem like a Mensa gathering. Not only did I find a good, intelligent thread here to discuss the crappy Matrix sequels, I found a place where people actually loved and (most importantly) thought about film. The same goes for the main site, which has some great writing. Since I got married and had a kid a few years ago, I don't see as many movies as I used to. Now I seem to do most of my posting in the politics forum and MMA thread. But I still read the main site and the focussed film discussion threads. I love this place and check it out pretty much daily. I even bought the damn magazine the two times I could find it and loved every dirty page.

Damn fucking straight! I've learned just as much here as I have in film school, if not more! Keep it up, CHUD!

Yep long time ago I was looking for some data about a certain Marvel property and I ended here, for the best. Nowadays I am a different chewer, tomorrow I am going to the cinema with a lady to see if Hulk stands as good as Iron Man.

I followed a link from After Dark Film's website about the 1st annual Horrorfest in 06 to Creature Corner. I've always been a horror fan, but the news and discussions on that site opened up whole new worlds to me, and pretty much ended the dearth I thought there was in good horror films and books. Later, I branched out into some of the other forums, but CC is always my 1st stop on a visit here. Alex does a fabulous job of running the site, and has selected some great people to write reviews and content (and I'm not saying that because I'm one of them, but the fact I get to do that makes me seem a whole lot more interesting at parties than I really am). I learn & laugh a lot from many of the fine folks hereabouts, whether they work for the site or just post good stuff. My RL friends must be getting tired of me starting sentences off with: "This guy on the Boards posted something about. . . ." But much of what goes on here is worthy of discussion, even w/ people who don't post here. So I think Singer is right on the money w/ his praise.

But I can't help but wonder: if we all got together and walked across his lawn at the same time, would he still love us all as much?

7 years under the belt here and this is still the only bulletin board I visit.

Film threory at uni was a long time ago now, but thank christ Ive got this place to discuss and deconstruct film in an intelligent manner - and this has one of the most intelligent politics boards on the net to boot.

Honestly - thank you one and all.

Chud rocks.

I love CHUD. I lurked on here for a month or two in the fall of 2005, but I had been directed to it by other sites like Bloody-Disgusting, before I joined in Jan. 2006. This is the first place that I go to every day, and the first bookmark in my favorites list. The second is the CHUD chatroom.

This is the only message board that I post on, and feel that I'm part of a big family, especially with the chat option, where I chat with a lot of the same people, who I've come to consider friends, just like with a lot of the others that I talk with in the forum.

I learned about who different people think are hot thanks to the forums.

Cracking site though, wish i'd found it earlier. Certainly helped me find some obscure films to watch.

I started coming here just as Chinatown was about to come out. I remember there was a huge flame war in the pre-release thread about it about whether it would have Kung Fu in it or not.

I joined up in May 2006, and didn't have the good sense to start posting till a year later. Thank you, CHUD, Chewers and Nick alike - thanks to this bunch, my Netflix account has been getting consistently used like a worn-out hooker. (What? That's a good thing, you goofs.)

If you've been here eight years, it means I've been here seven. I've known you longer than all of my relationships put together. Huzzah! I was a movie geek before CHUD, but now I have the chops to back up my taste. Well at least to the people I know off the boards. I've had ups, I've had downs, but there's no place I'd rather be than CHUD. Here's to seven more years!

I like that CHUD gets me updated on all the different freaks born throughout the world. Like the eight legged girl, tumorface guy, and so forth. Oh, and now I'm afraid of Detroit. Thanks, CHUD!

I'd like to fellate CHUD, but my knees are rusty. Still love this site though.

My favorite site! Same as Feral, I was lookin' for info on a certain Marvel property back in the day (actually found the site via Creature Corner - 'cause I needs my horror, damnit!), and lurked for a few years. I joined the boards in January of '06 and there we are (yes, yes, I gotta post more about movies, I know... bad Timmy, bad, bad, Timmy).

Because of CHUD, I no longer need a bottle of Jack to get through the day.

I still drink the bottle, but not because I need to.

Seriously, CHUD is the first and last stop for me on my internet wanderings. God knows where I would go without it.

Six years of great reading for me.
