Maybe; or maybe there were other reasons that surely were just as important as yours, i suppose. I dont see parents complaining about the epidemic of movie site writers needing to fly to events or shoots.
Your job demands you travel that much, doesnt it? Doesnt seem like you have much of an option then.
Take the good with the bad.

comic con 09 > wedding, funeral, vacation, and business trip combined.

I get annoyed on flights too. I always tend to get seated next to someone who can't stop talking to me. even when I put my headphones on, they don't seem to get the hint, but it's part of traveling, and I know that most of the time, these talkers are either lonely, or just nervous about flying and are trying to get their minds off of it. I deal, or if it becomes really annoying, i tell the person, I really don't want to talk to them. That seems to be a missing element to todays culture, people speaking up. Not on the internet, or too their friends, but actually speaking up when teh time is right.

If a baby is screaming, and it's due to the parents NOT being parents, speak up. Worst thing that will happen is what is already happening. Best case scenero, the parents either do something, or you get more people to say something.

I seriously don't understand how anyone believes they're going to change Devin's mind on this. Not going to happen. Not only is it not going to happen, we're bad parents and have nothing as important in our lives as a junket.

Again, not that it fucking matters. For right now, I opt not to bring my child on a plane because of A: The pressure reason that Devin mentioned and B: The thought of dealing with prissy assholes who can't handle 3 minutes of fussiness scares the shit out of me. However, if a grandparent out west sends 3 tickets so they can see their great grandson once before they die, fuck you guys, he's going on the plane with me.

Devin, so you're flying almost every week for a year. Don't you get upgraded to business class or are the kids following all the way there? I fly quite a bit and I seriously don't get 1/3rd of those trips full of crying babies.

Last time I flew (well over a year ago) we upgraded to business class with our (then-)2 yr old.

Of course, she was pretty good because we figured out some tricks; can't say she absolutely DIDN'T fuss but if she did, it was utterly minor.

Sooo much butthurt in this thread.
