Have at it.

#9. My top choice might still be there....
God damn...looks like tonight, I'll be home compiling a list, as I had no idea I made the list of participants. And I draft first! God damn...GOD DAMN.
11 to draft. Might squeeze it in. Tonight i'll have fun.
Number 18 for day one of the draft. I have a feeling that tomorrow I'll alternate between obsessively checking the thread and cursing you lot for taking my top candidates early on. I've convinced myself that my top pick will be gone well before my turn, but I'm curious to see who it will be to steal the pick away from me.
On another note, Nick, should one of us discover a conflict with our draft time, will you allow that person to trade draft positions with another player? I don't see any conflicts on my calendar as of yet, but I do have meetings and podcast recordings now and then. I wouldn't mind switching with someone further down the list in order to stay in the game. Assuming both parties agree and keep to the schedule, would that work? I know it makes administering the game more of a pain in the ass, so I'd understand if you nixed it.

Yeah, with what Strickland just asked.. just found out this Thursday and Friday I'm getting pulled out of the office to help out doing deliveries for my company, since the regular driver had a family emergency come up. The problem this creates is I'll only be able to get on a computer after about 5:40 pm EST, and for like a half hour in the morning when I first get to work, 10am EST

I'm fairly confident I have some draftees that will survive everyone else going Thur/Fri, but would it be better to email you my choices first thing in the morning of the day so you can get it on the main page during my slot (and then I'll handle the message board stuff after I get off work), or hold on to my pick and draft after the day is through when I can get online?

I know it's grief and I hate to start the first couple days of the draft like this, but emergencies are emergencies and I can't exactly tell them to fuck off because I need to be on my computer at 2 to draft x actor. Really wish I could though.. hoping for smooth sailing otherwise.

So wait, what time do I draft?
It's in the email.

I hope i get my first pick. My entire game is based on him.

You guys are welcome to have someone do your pick for you.
I like a lot of the company names, but flyarz has definately got my favorite.
Thanks. Not an original phrase by any means (I swiped it from some Kid A artwork -- http://home.student.uu.se/hehi1133/Text.gif), and after some Googling, also apparently the title of some "Left Behind" rip-off book.

Success!
I'm still a little confused by where I'm supposed to write the justification for my pick. In this thread or a new one? I guess it'll become apparent since I draft last.

Last.
All that planning out the window.
Yet, I almost like on the fly better.
Anyone can bust out a hot draft at the top. The real win is in the follow through. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Legion is a bunch of demons with a collective consciousness from the bible. I think Christ banishes them/him into a herd of pigs, making pork forbidden, or some such. I don't recall it very well. But Legion is in a bunch of movies and stuff. Colm Feore played Legion in Storm of the Century!
My company name is an Arrested Development reference. I imagine you can figure out what it's referring to.
Mine is a reference to "Triumph", the Wu-Tang song where 10 guys blended their abilities together to make an outstanding track--their biggest "mainstream" hit.
Right out of the fuckin gate with that one Olson.
Yeah, expected. I would have gone the same way probably if i was number 1.
I didn't even bother considering him because I knew that unless I was Top 5, he'd never get to me.
Yeah, I figured he'd go in the first 2. I didn't even plan on getting him.
Man...I really went back and forth on who I wanted to draft in this round, but ultimately, I figured if I didn't take Downey, Jr. right out of the gate, I'd never get him. So it may be an obvious choice, but I think it's a sound one.

And Matchstick takes one of my top five female choices. Good one, sir.
No way he wasn't going first.
Damn you and your Blanchett snatching.
Downey is no surprise. Blanchett is who I wanted. Damns.
As much as I love RDJ, he steals every scene he's in, so I crossed him off early. Going with a woman this early is interesting, even if it is Cate Blanchett.
RDJ was my third overall, actually. But as everyone said, I knew I wouldn't get him drafting as far down as I am. I'm just hoping to get one of my top three.
I'm curious to hear if anyone would have not picked Downey as their first pick had they had that option.
Damn, Blanchett was the second name I thought of when this thing first got mentioned, but seeing Mushnik and Arjen's posts, I guess she wasn't getting to me regardless.
I wouldn't have picked RDJ. He would have been second though.

I'm beginning to realize how far down the list #12 actually is.

I don't think I would have.

Ditto, i'm terrified. Also, i'm trying to come up with good stuff for the main site. And i suck.
By the way, my rep company is a reference to my little short that I'm editing right now. (It's what I'm talking about in Eric's current signature).
I would have picked Blanchett first, no question. Downey I didn't even consider, because I knew others would want him more than me.

I wouldn't have. I wanted Owen with 3-4 others I just barely picked him over, none of them RDJ
post #35 of 1231
Chris, I believe Nick mentioned there was going to be a separate pictures thread, so you might want to keep the draft and company threads free of 'em.

And it still makes me laugh every time because of the absurdity if you don't know what it's in regards to.
Nice one Chris. He was my "#1" pick, which my #19 position made me think of as impossible to draft. And great list so far.

Honestly, I was curious.

Keep in mind, since I'm second to last, we also go first and second tomorrow. Two opportunities, back to back, to severely fuck with someone's day.
Clooney and Depp. Run on leading men. Interesting.
I'd rather draft last than nearly in the middle where I am now, because with last place on the first day, you get first draft every other day. I'm always in the middle so it's nearly impossible to get a jump on any picks.
Depp was a last-minute flip for me. Curious to see when my original choice goes.
None of the picks so far are even on my radar, so I am pleased.

I wanted Clooney, but I knew he wouldn't make it out of the top 5.
EDIT: Nevermind then
So far so good. VERY interested in hearing about Cole. Cordo?
does double take, rubs eyes

WHAAAAAT?
Downey was my first choice, Blanchett my second and Depp my third. I'm telling you, I'm taking the cast of Torque. I have no choice.

He had to have seen PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. Or is just a huge fan of "American Gothic" and "Harvey Birdman".
