I don't know about you guys, but I hated the first two. I think Stephen Sommers is a terrible writer/director. I'm hoping Rob Cohen can redeem the previous two with his entry.

I liked the first Mummy but hated the second one. I suspect that this one will be a DVD rental, nothing more.

The first one was alright, the second one was a fucking mess, but I'll bet a nice, shiny quarter that this will be a much better Indiana Jones movie than KOTCS was.

Yes, I went there.

I won't take that bet.

It's just not about finishing the movie for its release date. There's also industry screenings (though a rough workprint has already been seen by few - and yeah, this reeks of planted ten ways to tuesday), press-screenings and a worldwide tour with some of the talents involved... that'll surely involve premieres and pre-screenings.

But all in all, print shipping or not, Michael Bay was working on The Island the day prior to release, right?

Loved the first one. Didn't like the second one. Trailer for this makes it look surprisingly entertaining.

Apparently this one's up to par with the first one (uh, so far)... which I also loved, yep.

The second one, despite some really inspired stuff -the London scenes, the pygmies- not so much.

As much as I disliked the second Mummy movie, the double decker bus scene was an exceptionally well done sequence. That scene would have been GREAT in an Indiana Jones movie.

I actually liked Mummy Returns better. It's a mess, but it's a fun mess that knows what it is. The first Mummy jumps between genres, generally failing at each, and features absolutely no chemistry between Fraser and Weisz.

Give the man a cigar.

Haven't gotten around to seeing the trailer yet, but that international poster looks pretty friggin' cool. I'll definitely be seeing this flick.

The Mummy Returns is great fun until they get to the valley. Loved the double-decker bus chase, loved the montage with Rick and Evie following the clues left by their son, and the end credits theme is fantastic. But the finale just tosses too much at you too fast. Doesn't ruin the entire movie for me, but it could have wrapped things up better.

I was with The Mummy Returns until CGROCK showed up. No excuse for that ILM, no excuse. But this one looks ok, and it looks alot better than Journey to the Center of the Earth movie he's in.

The Mummy Returns is redeemed by this moment

Wait? Did Vosloo just teleport in?

Brendan Fraiser stabs the PS1-rendered Rock-Lobster, Vosloo runs into frame, gets into position, and then goes "Nooooooooooooooooo!" Priceless.

Haha. Nice.

I'm a huge fan of the first movie, I think it's even more entertaining than the Indiana Jones sequels *ducks* but I didn't care for the second one. I'm not big on sequels that essentially remake the original (with the exception of Desperado) such as Mummy Returns, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I check out of Mummy Returns starting when they reuse the objects falling over in a circle (shelves in the first, columns in the second) and I am gone by the time the CGI waterfall is chasing them. Give me something new. Which I'm hoping the third one does.

Although the Vosloo moment above does send me into fits of high pitched laughter and if the movie is close to it when I pass it on TV I will wait for it.

Yeah, that was kind of amazing. I still laugh my ass off when I think about that sequence.

And I will agree that the double-decker bus sequence in Returns was pretty aces.
