I loved the episode with Rat-Man thing. Fucking greatness. Definitely a guilty pleasure.

This is enormously entertaining.
Why have I never heard of it before?

Oh man, I completely forgot about that one- http://youtube.com/watch?v=Qfr8mGHZFzM

The show was never big, Xagarath, which is why it's also hysterical when the characters say "You're on Scare Tactics!" and the poor victim doesn't know what the hell that means.

They also got sued for scaring the shit out of girl with an alien abduction... this one, I believe.

How many hidden cameras did they have in that car?

Was that Diva?

Oh hells yes. I loved the shit out of this show when it first aired. Overly elaborate pranks? Geek subtext? Scaring the shit out of your friends? Why, it's as if it spoke to me.

Glad to see it's back.

My old favorite, hands down: BIGFOOT ATTACK!

That's really was the best part, no one knew what that meant. And it only came off like crazy nonsense or a threat with the 'are you scared' part of the reveal. Especially when the victim is put up against a psycho, or homicidal maniac character type.

I liked the one where they had a guy and they were having him help transport a gorilla into a zoo habitat. The gag was going to be that the gorilla (guy in a suit) would escape, first attack the scientist, and then go after the 'victim', but when the gorilla got out and went after the scientist, the 'victim' darted up a 20' fence and right over. Completely stopped the whole thing.

Love this show, glad to see it's returning. While the out-there episodes (Bigfoot, Ratman, etc.) were wonderful, I always liked the psycho scenarios. One of my faves had the victim as a guy on a repossession crew taking back the furniture and appliances of this intensely creepy and surly dude, with some story that a previous repo guy had fallen off the face of the earth. The victim was taken into the basement to start unloading a big floor freezer, and he found the dismembered body of the previous repo guy inside. When he tried to tell his partner that the situation was serious he was practically vomiting and crying in terror. They had to reassure the guy it was just a TV show.

One other great psycho episode had a scary hitchhiker with a bowling ball bag. When he went out to take a leak the passengers unzipped the bag to reveal a severed head crawling with flies. It was so shockingly realistic I was taken aback.

I would really prefer if Tracy Jordan hosted. I'd love to hear his continued theories of the excellence of vampire golfers.

Both of those were linked in the article!

Is that the one where the psycho started "stabbing" the target's friend? That one was pretty vicious.

The black dudes on this show run faster than the ones on Cops.

I loved this show. Hey, if you're gonna be an asshole at least go all out. Also some of the pranks were really nicely staged. They went beyond simple jump scares and built some pretty effective atmosphere.

Funniest bit was in a prank Baldwin was himself in. He came out thinking that the victim would recognize him but the dude was completely oblivious. It was so awkward.

Serves me right for not scrolling past the text. Great minds think alike!

The girl in the red sweatshirt... her reaction and scream is priceless when Squatch pounds on the RV window. She tries to use her BF as a shield!

Stelios is right, they did great with the atmosphere. I loved this show too. Hope they bring Travis back on the team, he was always entertaining.

The first season was great. I swear some of those "victims" had to have come out of the show with serious issues. I think they were sued by someone for mental anguish. After that, they'd stop the fun at the first sign of the victim panicking.

Oh shit! A midget devil baby just jumped out of a womans vagina.

Most of the marks still look like they're in on it/on the verge of cracking up, but this remains a fun show. Happy that they got the old team back together (only one missing was that big blonde haired dude who always played escaped psychos)

It's up here if anyone missed it- http://www.scifi.com/rewind/?sid=35626&e=273526

I love this show.

Wow, that is seriously great. Wish I'd heard of this before.

Really? Cause the back to back eps I watched this week had some people who looked like they're we're gonna have a heartattack or throw up. This one dude was shaking so bad in the post-interview, he looked like he was going through withdrawal.

The "Scanners" one was amazing (the girl was nearly in tears). Her friend, the accomplice, is clearly a jerk (only reason to pull the prank is BECAUSE she scares easy, not revenge or anything), but I couldn't stop laughing.

To me, a lot of the mark reactions just don't seem genuine, e.g. from the two new episodes- the guy in the train with the monster, the girl at the crisis hotline who keeps getting calls from crazy Travis, the guy who gets caught as part of the film crew... Maybe I'm wrong, but I just get that feeling from some of the setups. Here's one from a previous season:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2NON1ncmmc

Look at the guy after the werewolf gets shot. Seems like a bit of an acting job, no?

But I do still enjoy the show a lot, and some of the marks do seem very scared, e.g. the wood chipper guy, and the Firestarter girl (who looked scared but also looked like she wanted to try and help the guy somehow... true colours shining through, there).

So I dunno.

The Alien egg one wasn't bad, and marked the triumphant return of creepy Sawyer from Lost looking guy!

But I swear that "victim" in the one with the escaped lunatic in the back of the truck was smiling almost the whole time. Also, stunt driving- maybe a bit too dangerous for a hidden camera show? And how the fuck did that guy jump off the balcony without the other guy seeing the mattress or whatever? These are all questions that must be answered.

Is that genie played by Freddie "FABULOUS!" Mercury?

The Elizabeth Bathory spa one ("I'd prefer it if you didn't look at me when you speak...") made me laugh.

That psyco stunt driver is friggin Allan Graf! I would recognize him anywhere!

If these are the genuine article, I give major props to the actors for not cracking up in the middle of this (like the SNL guys are prone to do). I wonder if there's any out-takes, botched attempts. Do they try multiple versions on diff people, and televise the best ones?

I really liked the Bathory one. That girl was really scared, no question.

I KNEW I had seen him somewhere! Couldn't put a name to the face, though. He's pretty good, I hope they use him more. I don't think he's been in any of the previous seasons.

The devil baby bit is an all-time classic.

I died when the evil priest who was giving the chick that ominous stare from the window walked into the delivery room. He looked like he was 7 feet tall.

The show gets good mileage out of that little dude... Devil baby, alien pod creature, and his masterpiece- the Ratman (best mark freakout ever? I think so)

Watched this last night. Sillier than usual.

Also rewatched the "ALIEN VS CAR in desert" classic in a "Best of" remix (with new Tracy material). That one is gold. Alien rips a door off the car. The guy leaves the girl to fend for herself. She dives over the seats to get out of the car, and it takes her sooooo long for her to calm down and figure out what's going on.

I laughed out loud at Morgan's hilariously blunt line after they showed the Alien one (what was it, "now she's (bleeping) somebody else"?)

chickenshit behaviour makes for great TV, doesn't it?
And I have to agree, the ice one was pretty silly. The caveman looked adorable rather than scary, and the mark seemed amused more than anything.
