Hey Erix!

Thanks! Glad you liked The Rabbinator. Yes, that was its original name.

Totally lame.

Interesting read. Kinda neat how you did it in screenplay format. Kudos.

I like this.

Just pour it all out there.

Judging from the general feedback, I wouldn't get too excited about T4. I'll be seeing it in the next couple of days too... Expectations have been lowered to the point that I'll probably love it.

Erix, I'm not that excited about T4 either. I'll have to force myself to go only because I crave a bit of destruction. And because I'm bored

Interesting blog about The Colombian tv industry, Natalia. It should be pretty much written that if they're going to be making a tv show there, they should employ local actors.

I too liked Terminator: Salvation. It wasn't a spectacular film, but I was entertained, and that's all that counts.

The Neurotic Monologues: Audiovisual Summer of DOOM, Part 3

Now that is some really fucked up thinking on their part.

and seriously, when is The Expendables coming out?
It's apparently coming out in April of next year. We're hotly anticipating it over in the B-Action Thread.

Great write up, Natalia. Geek girls like you are a rare breed, but it's true. These people shouldn't automatically assume that girls are only interested in shit like twilight and other "girly" stuff rather than treating them as equals with the male geeks. They're just turning off rather than interesting girls into their product. That's just bad publicity. Whoever greenlit that article is a moron.

The Neurotic Monologues: Audiovisual Summer of DOOM, Part 4

A nice hearty serving as usual...

I too would like to see more installments in The Adventures of Action Padre McKenna. It would undoubtedly be thrilling to watch him bounce around more rooftops in other picturesque cities around the globe.
I had never really seen any of Michael Jackson's videos before last friday when MTV was playing them. Scream was really original and interesting. I liked it a lot.

Hope you feel better from your cold, Natalia. Summer colds are the worst.

Rene - I’m feeling much better. Thanks! Colds love me but for this one, I decided to deal with it without any medication. It’s like consciously deciding to become a green goo factory. Nasty!

Erix - Wouldn’t The Adventures of Action Padre McKenna make an excellent writing exercise, or at least a half decent fanfic? By the way, and I’m quoting myself here: Just saw Watchmen. OMG!!!!
I would say get on it Natalia, I'd be curious to read about his adventures.

Glad you enjoyed Watchmen. I'm on pins and needles for the director's cut. I'm renting a screening room at the Cinemateca so I can have a "theatrical release" of my own.

Nice! So you got to see the Director's Cut? Great! Now you've got one up on me. I have to wait a couple of weeks... My Blu Ray doesn't get here for 10 days.

Advantage? To see it projected on a big screen.

Also... Thanks for the heads-up. I was seriously thinking of investing in an LG 32" ... I actually like its colors BETTER than Sony and the overall design of the chassis is cooler. But your problem is giving me second thoughts. In any case, I'll ask the dealer (he deals in both brands) for straight-shooter info and mention your problem to him.

My friend has an LG HDTV and he likes it. I went with a Samsung HDTV myself.

My HP monitor went dead a few weeks ago, and I upgraded to a 16:9 HP monitor and it's made my desk top even more awesome.

The Director's Cut just keeps on sounding great, and making me want to break down and purchase the Blu-ray.

Larry Miller is a genius comedian.

Erix: I swear, after I saw Watchmen, I wanted to die for not having seen it on a big screen. I feel envy. Lots of envy. Also, I might just be very unlucky with LG. That's 4 regular TVs, 1 LCD, and one widescreen monitor of pure bad luck. When I bought the monitor I told my LG problems to the dealer. She said the monitor was awesome and I believed her like a sucker.

Rene: My dad had a 32" samsung HDTV and it was beautiful. He bought it about three months ago but he recently sold it to my mom and got a 32" Bravia. I love samsung. I had a regular 24" samsung TV I adored because it has a control to normalize channel sound. Sony doesn't have that. I miss hearing all the channels at an even volume. But I think Bravia TVs have superior image quality.
My Samsung is a 32" also. I love it. Almost went with a 37" but the 32" is great enough. I like that the speakers are on the sides, and that it has a swivel base.

Nice going Nat.

This was a cool series. You made me kind of curious about So You Think You Can Dance.

...But not curious enough.
Great series, Natalia. Agree on Burn Notice. Thats a hell of a good show, and Jeffery Donovan is ten kinds of awesome.
Hey Natalia,

I finally caught up with your blogs (I'm a very busy man...I've been occupied by drinking and crying). I'm sad to see this format disappear. Unfortunately, I have caught a few So You Think You Can Dance episodes, which made me drink and cry even more. Anyway, I dug the Summer of Doom.

Thank you sir! The format will reappear for the fall season because there will be so much crap to watch. I'm looking forward to dissecting the shit out of V.

And with So You Think You Can Dance and So You Think You Can Dance Canada running at the same time, you will not be the only one drinking and crying!

First saw V when my Dad got the vhs from Colombia House. I remember him telling me about the visitors, and he kept their reptilian nature from me. Damn if I wasn't surprised when they were first revealed. Didn't get to see The Final Battle until many years later (2004 or 2005 I think) Michael Ironside is indeed awesome.

I haven't seen the tv series, but I don't think I really need to. Although the burning desire to see some reptile chicks with big 80's hair, and the always great Robert Englund makes me want to check it out.

If I were a lady, I hope my first crush would've been as cool as Michael Ironside. I think my first crush was maybe Phoebe Cates in Gremlins. Not as awesome.

Have you braved the V remake?

I have braved the V remake and I'm about to watch the second episode. I'm going to disect the hell out of it for my next blog.

My thoughts about the pilot were along the lines of "mmm...ok". Also, whenever Alan Tudyk dies on any show, I weep.

If only they gave Michael Ironside a guest role... *blushes*
post #89 of 178
I remain skeptical of the new show thus far. I do enjoy that the cast is a who's who of other sci-fi shows (Lost, Firefly, BSG, The 4400), but it lacks the rough-around-the-edges charm of the original and I think they jumped to the lizard people reveal a little soon. Plus Scott Wolf doesn't seem to have aged since 1997, which is kinda creepy.

Frankly the show could really stand some Ironside.

Agreed. There's something almost too clinical about the lizards. Not only was the reveal of the lizards too soon, but also the formation of the resistance seemed too rushed. Morena Baccarin is doing a good job as Ana, but I miss Diana.

I'm sure Scott Wolf is in fact a lizard. Nothing else can explain his unnatural youthful complexion. Not even botox.

Then it has already begun. We must start our own resistance.

I completely agree, on nearly all points. The teenage son drives me nuts. That kind of character always has, even when I was an annoying teenage son.

If the show is given time to grow I expect I'll start liking Mitchell's character more (just cause I like the actress). But currently I have kind of a meh response to her. For me Action Padre is the heartbeat of that duo.

Action Padre is love. I want to see him bust some crazy ass ninja move or grab a pump shotgun and go nuts on those lizards.
Still need to see the 3rd and 4th episodes on Hulu, but the first 2 really let me down with how slow they were.

I hope Action Padre forsakes his vows and leaps into Elizabeth Mitchell's arms. That would give us what the great Ironside and Fay Grant wanted in the original V tv series. A love story between the two.

Then they cut him out of the show, sadly it was at the same time, and also to "protect" that cancer that was Robin.
