Anyone plan on watching this summer? I kind of forgot about it until i saw the ad. First season was breezy but fun, hope the second season will be too.

Anything that keeps me with a regular dose of Bruce Campbell is worth my time.
Yeah definetly worth a look, season 1 was interesting and I do want to find out why he was burned.
Oh, yeah season 2 is about to begin. Great. Season 1 was surprisingly fun.
Hell yes. Very fun show. This and Psych are great summer fun.
really looking forward to ALL of USA's summer shows returning. Man they are on a roll.
I do enjoy Burn Notice, Psych, and Monk but I can never get really excited about them like I do with most FX series. I hope Burn Notice adds more to the overall conspiracy and less of the crime of the week formula
post #8 of 234
Man, I can't wait for this show to gear back up it was a lot of fun and became required viewing each week.

That promo has me jazzed, gives a nice Silk Stalkings meets james bond kind of vibe.

Season one is up on Hulu. As long as they keep teaching fun tricks, they can do the show anyway they want. Really, I want a how-to book on some of their stuff.

Amen to that. Burn Notice and Psych are now two of my favorite TV shows. Both have excellent casts, witty writing and are just plain fun. Fun and light shows are a nice change of pace. Battlestar Galactica and The Shield take so much out of me that it's nice to sit back and relax with these two shows.

Now that they casted Tricia Helfer as Michael handler's, it's even more interesting. I loved the casualness of season 1, and the lead is great. Bruce is an extra and welcomed spice. I shall download this thing ASAP.

WHAT?!? Holy crap, that's fantastic casting. How did I miss this news?
Ive felt from the start that this has been some sort of co-vert ops test. Take a great agent and strand them with nothing and see how they fair.
This is one of those shows I got into on DVD; blazing through episodes when I should be working. It and Mad Men are the two shows I am most looking forward to this summer.

Why I am a huge dork who will die alone, among many reasons: When Richard Schiff started yelling at Westin over the phone, big smile broke out across my face.
Toss in The Venture Brothers (now airing) and Eureka and you have my summer TV list as well.
I saw the season 1 finale on USA a few days ago and now I can't watch the rest of season 1 fast enough to catch up on. This show is great.
I'm also looking forward to the second season of this show starting. Like most of you said, it is just a fun show that doesn't take an investment to be interested in.
It hasn't missed a beat. It's one of those shows where the over-arching story arc is fine but the individual episodes are so great, that I don't care if there isn't much forward momentum. I would love this show if it were purely episodic. I'm so happy it's back.
Good to have this back, although I was surprised how quickly it got reset back to normal. And I had no idea who Helfer is/was, but I knew exactly when Bruce hit on her at the bar that she was Michael's mystery lady...

Anwar continues to confound me. She looks great in those little dresses, but when they put her in a bikini, I'm amazed* at how unbelievably thin she is.

*Not in a good way
I still don't like the family stuff (his mom, brother, etc)

But yeah this was a pretty solid opener.
The only thing I didn't like is that they pulled their online episodes yesterday.. I got to episode 8 and couldn't finish catching up before the premier last night.

Oh well, they're back up today, so back online I go.

And yes, the family stuff can get a little tedious, but last night's revelation by his Mom was pretty damn key. She finally gets why he never came home all those years.

Then she say, "I still don't know why you couldn't write." Or something to that effect.

Total McFly Moment.
Anwar is at her hottest in her jeans, tank top, and gun. But for some reason, even in her bikini I found her hot (and skinny chicks usually don't do it for me). Its the character though, sorta like with Jolie, very hot with guns.

Good first ep. Will be interesting to see how they handle this season.
Not a bad start to the season.
I'm kind of annoyed that they're keeping it in Miami and dragging out the 'Who burned Michael?' plot for another season. I expected him to get closure on that and actually be willingly working as a problem solver for a private firm or a black ops division or something. I'm guessing it's going to be business as usual for most of the season with a couple of episodes where 'Carla' calls him and tells him to do them another favour.
Well to be fair the show is caled Burn notice. When he gets unburned then theres no more show I guess. The whole point is that he is stuck in Miami with Fiona, his family and Sam. When he is unburned he will leave Miami and all of those people behind. Don't get me wrong that would be interesting to see him do the real secret agent thing but I think that would completely change the structure of the show and I don't think anyones ready for that.

We got Argentina shout out. And he wasn't a Nazi. yay!
Good episode. Glad to have such a fun summer show back.

I expect what's going to happen is next episode, Micheal will meet and hang out with Six and she'll say something along the lines of, "And you're working for me now because I need someone to do exactly what you've been doing, surprisingly all in Miami as well." And he will do the same things, just coming at it from a different direction as he tries to find out why her or her bosses burned him.

And I have no problem with that as long as it stays fun.

Exactly right. I'm happy with keeping the show's tone as it was.

How do you fit into these tiny doll shirts?
Pretty fun episode, especially the fake shoot-out. I'm hoping they keep the brother pretty much away from the show this season. Do not like.
Every time I watch one of these USA original series I get more and more annoyed that my cable company refuses to get USA HD. I swear the episodes look better on Hulu than they do on TV.

That said, I did enjoy the episode. I am kind of sick of the family stuff but I enjoy the ridiculous things they think up as 'emergencies' for his mom to call him over to deal with.
Nice little twist on how she wasn't the typical damsel in distress last night. I did miss the first couple of minutes - did they explain how he got the car back, or did I just miss something last season after it was blown to bits?

Also, I have to admit to wincing when she threw that camera to the ground. The photo nerd in me almost yelled "No!" at the tv...
I've missed this show, last week and this week have reminded me why. Tricia Helfer is a nice addition and I dig their interaction. Hopefully they keep her around a lot longer.

No idea about the car.
I love how Michael pushes for information at every possible step, just waiting for her to finally slip up
post #37 of 234
As much fun as it is for Michael to have some to verbally spar with, I am going to enjoy it when he finally gets to put two in her head and walk away. That is just how I see it going.

The Charger suffered only superficial damage from the exploding propane tank that almost took out Xena. They said in the first episode of Season 2 that it took some engine work but it's running again.
I gotta say, this week's episode was the best this season so far. I loved the con they pulled and Sam was in rare form. "Oh, lower my voice...so I need to talk like this."

Next week looks great.

A lot of laugh out loud moments in this one.

I also like how they're trying to develop the mother's character. She seems less shrewish with each episode.

And see, I think the mother is easily the worst part of the show.
No, the brother is, by far. Interesting how he hasn't shown up yet in Season 2.

She might be, but I like that they're working on it. The family part of the story is what keeps the show from becoming Macguyver.
Divoff and Campbell in the same episode? Got some good casting on this show. Liked Larry Miller's appearance as well.
Loved that ep

Was it just me, or was the direction better than usual? Seemed really fucking good, some really nice shot composition. I'm no expert, far from it, but it just looked more expensive than usual.

Just checked IMDB, it was directed by this guy http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0470971/ Anybody with School Hard and The Harvest on his CV, as well as 14 eps of Veronica Mars, gets a thumbs up from me
post #46 of 234
Yes the fights scenes seemed better shot than usual as well. If you look at last season they could be rather confusing.
Yeah, he's a pro. Hopefully he'll do more this season.
"Torture is for sadists and thugs. It's like getting groceries with a flamethrower: it doesn't work and it makes a mess."

Suck it, Jack Bauer.
Well I really don't want to spark a political debate here about torture and terrorism but I imagine torture can and does work depending on the individual whether your for or against torture. I mean it might not on a guy like the great Andrew Divoff but im sure there are pusses like me who work for organized crime and would give it up after having some electrodes clipped to your nuts. Plus if you have a deadline and you have a life or death situation and a guy you know knows what you want maybe there isn't time to pull a clever trick ya know?

It did strike me as funny that Michael Weston was against it just on the basis that it doesn't work but not morally. Not sure why but I would think a guy like him would have done it before and seen it's affects. It just felt more like they were trying to make a political statement rather then movie the plot along. Althought I gotta say I did love the whole con and the fact that Divoff got killed and probably tortured anyway.
What I liked is that they also keep making the point that Weston's a bit of a fussbudget.
