Showed me a different side of Almodovar, at least in comparison to what I've seen of his so far (La Mala educación, ATAME!), and I loved it. The relationships throughout the film, particularly the primary correspondence between Javier Cámara and Darío Grandinetti is really like nothing I've seen in a film before, and it works tremendously. The soundtrack is nearly perfect (loved the inclusion of Adagio for Strings), and the direction is (as to be expected) terrific. As corny as this sounds, it has a lot to say about love under unusual circumstances, and the consequences/benefits of which. Anyone else here have the pleasure of seeing this?
