Yeah that's the one.

I like that the disbanding and retirement of NIN has not affected Trent Reznor in a way that would keep him from revisiting his best material. Maybe there will be a HALO 5 reissue in the next few years. I just wonder what film he's gonna score next cause I don't think that How To Destroy Angels project is going to hold up. I am really looking forward to rediscovering HALO 2 on Nov. 22.

A PHM re-release? Holy shit, how did it take so long to find out?

Awesome news.

A few weeks ago Reznor confirmed an early 2011 release for How to Destroy Angels and a late 2011 release for a new NIN album.

OK. I hope the full length HTDA album is good. If NIN is releasing a new studio album I'm all about it. I wonder if it'll be a casual effort like The Slip.

I really dig the HTDA EP. And yeah, The Slip is my least appreciated NIN album, but it was a freebee.

Stream Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine Reissue in Its Entirety Right Now

[copied from pitchfork.com]

On November 22, UMe/Bicycle Music Company will release a remastered and expanded reissue of Pretty Hate Machine, Nine Inch Nails' landmark debut album. (The vinyl version is out December 7.) Right now, you can stream the whole thing, including the bonus track cover of Queen's "Get Down Make Love", at Soundcloud.

I am so all about this it's not even funny. Damn this album sounds good! [edit] I highly recommend Terrible Lie, Sanctified, SIN, The Only Time and Ringfinger.

Shit, that sounds great remastered.

New EP out today. Apparently, it's inaccessible or something. Listened to it a few times. Sounds like Nine Inch Nails. I never though I'd say this, but methinks I've outgrown NIN.

I really wish I had more time to absorb the new EP and the Fragile Deviations 1, but this is such a busy time of the year. I preordered everything that went for sale last week.

I'm still liking NTAE after 3 listens. It now sounds to me like a more effects-drenched version of The Slip. Not a mind-blower, but good.

I set up a playlist with all the new instrumental tracks from Fragile Deviations. Hmmm. There's nothing substantially songy there. Mostly they sound like segues, going through variations on top of a loop.

Put all together out of context, it sounds like the background music to a CD-ROM FMV adventure game. By that standard, they're pretty good. I'd say this Deviations stuff is only for the hardest of the hardcore, though.

I spent the better part of 2 hours trying to unzip the FLAC files for The Fragile.  Pretty aggravating.

I listened to it twice, I guess it's good music if you don't like songs that get stuck in your head.

Well. Here's the new single:

New EP out next Friday. Yay?

I like it!

The new EP will be listened to intently by me, with both ears.

Man I loved NIN like 10-12 years ago. Beat is ok, Trent should shut down the vocals at this point. Just produce.

Exactly my thought. As soon as he started up, I immediately cringed.

That was probably the first and last time I listen to that.

I dig it even if it isn't breaking any new NIN ground.

As far as his vocals go....I disagree. Trent's vocals are integral to this version of NIN and him not singing wouldn't make it NIN.

Now there are the NIN ambient/instrumental works that have been released but those seem less like NIN and more of an indulgence of Trent and his soundtrack leanings.

That's more the NIN I enjoy.  Or the slower stuff.  Quieter.  Or even heavier.  This...this is just too poppy for me.

sort of on tangent.....TR was featured a bit in the HBO docu. 'The Defiant Ones'

My Fragile Deviations 1 vinyl copy finally showed up today after ordering in December.

No sign of The Fragile or NTAE albums yet.

God I miss the days when every NIN song didn't sound the same.

And I definitely won't be buying a physical media package if I get this EP. Not eager for another envelope of messy carbon-coated paper.

Another new song to delight you all:

I am sure this parody isn't new to most NIN fans, but the first release off the new EP really makes this even more hilarious, but also kind of depressing.  He really, really, really, really needs to stop making this song.
